Okay, I think I got those dates right!!! This week will most likely consist of me stressing out about how to tell dh that we're unexpectedly expected! :lol Also, ds1 and I have a dentist's appt. Yuck. That's my exciting week in a nutshell.
Oh crap. I just remembered that I have a Krav Maga class on Tuesday. That can get a little rough. I'm not too sure I'm entirely comfortable participating while pg. Yikes. I'll have to think that one through.
What's up with everyone else?

That's super sweet of him! We cleaned house yesterday, and the parts that the kids haven't already destroyed looks pretty good still! :lol Minus all the Costco stuff sitting on the table that I still have to put up. Gotta love Costco! :thumb

Arnica montana. It's a homeopathic remedy for bumps, bruises, swelling, etc. It is amazing. It's safe for pg, too. If you're prone the clumsiness (as I am!!! :lol), you need to keep some handy. Any health food store will have it. I'm sorry you fell. Ouch. I hope you're feeling okay.

Wow, I was going to start a thread like this, what a great idea!
I have no unusual plans this week. Tuesday is family night where my parents, grandma, brothers and adopted aunt come over. They're in for a surprise this week when I tell them I'm pregnant, I think! I'd wait a while, but we're planning a trip in Dec to the most magical place on earth and a baby has to kind of be in those plans.
Wed nights I go to church and help cook dinner for the youth group. I hope hope hope I don't get too sick to keep doing this. I love it. I cook with my friends and chat the night away.
Thursday is milk day, raw milk is delivered and gobs of people come by to pick up their milk. Again I hope I don't get too sick to function through this.
Otherwise, homeschooling, cleaning and organizing in preparation for being sick. :)

This week I'm hope with just my 3 year old. Thank goodness. Everyone else is irritating me to no end. Next week DH is off all week and as much as I love him, that makes me insane. Today I plan to take DD to school and then hit the treadmill. I have one in my living room. :)
NotTheOnlyOne: ouch! Heal quickly :hug
This week I'm cooking and freezing and baking. At least, that's the plan - last night's gargantuan pot o' chili ended up with DH having to finish it; the smell had me running from the room. :eyesroll
Saturday is DH's 35th birthday, and I've NO clue what I'm doing for him other than baking him chocolate chip cookies and an angel food cake (per his request). We HAD plans to go see his family in Sacramento, as DS's birthday is also next week, but I get a bit ill on long car trips as it is. Not sure if the morning sickness I'm already feeling is going to get bad enough that I'm home-ridden or not.
Hopefully the rain lets up soon so DS and I can get outside for a bit.

I'm so bored at work and I don't feel like working so I figured why not post here? I'm finding it really hard to focus lately, like, really difficult. I think it's just b/c I have a lot on my mind, but I also read it's just another pg symptom. Of course, knowing that doesn't help me get my work done any faster!
I went shopping last Saturday and bought the cutest new pants at Old Navy b/c my jeans were already getting too tight. They are so comfortable - and they're the same size, but since they're stretchy cords they so much more comfortable. I feel like I'm working in my pj's which feels wonderful! And, they were only $7! On clearance! LOVE good deals. I also got new pj's from Victoria's Secret that are really cute, and some new ballet flats. I definitely needed some retail therapy this past weekend, lol.
Other than that, just trying to put up with people at work w/o spilling the beans. One guy asked me today, "Why are you eating so much? Aren't you trying to lose weight?"
Who says that?
It's going to be at least a few more weeks before I tell my co-workers. I can't wait to get this secret off my chest!!!

so the pregnancy brain is already setting in. Today I dropped a ceramic pig off the mantle and it broke and later I was pouring milk into a glass and talking at the same time and I completely missed the glass, pouring milk all over the floor. Its gonna be a long 9 months.

Is a "bump hugger" one of those elastic bands that keep pants up, even when they don't fit? I feel so out of things not knowing a pregnancy related term! :)
It snowed here today! 3 inches. It's melting rapidly, but it means hubby didn't go to work. Why can't I get anything done when he's home? Oh yeah, cuz he follows me around bugging the tar out of me! I wonder what he'd think if I went to work with him for a day...hahahahaha!

My problem is, what color do I get? I don't know how many things it would match if I got a specific color, you know? And I kind of get excited about wearing maternity clothes. :o But I do have a few things I would like to keep wearing for as long as possible. And besides, if this is twins again, I'm going to need something to cover the gap at that point. But will these things even work if I'm that big?

It's nice to see that you're so positive about twins. Multiples scare me to death. Seriously, I can't tell you how upset I'd be. I don't feel like *I* could be the kind of mother I want to be to more than one at a time. Then, having had a severely SN child and a newborn, I may just be traumatized. :lol

Hey, Mrshawwk - where do you get the raw milk? Are you going to have it during pregnancy?
I'm doing well. I have tinges of nausea, but I'm only 4.5 weeks pregnant - so nothing terribly overwhelming. I'm so excited for our third baby. I still get nervous about the 1st trimester since we've had a M/C before.

Hey, Mrshawwk - where do you get the raw milk? Are you going to have it during pregnancy?

Yes, I'm drinking raw milk. I've only had access to it for once previous pregnancy, and even though I have 3 healthy kids, my second, who is the one I drank the raw milk with, has the super straight, well-spaced and white teeth. I get it from Dungeness Valley Creamery. Pasture fed cows, yum!
First trimester is always nerve wracking for me too. I miscarried a few months ago at 5 weeks, and for some reason will feel better when I'm 6 weeks. But of course, at 12 weeks I say "whew!".

Krav Maga sound pretty rough during pregnancy. I had a friend who did the Brazilian martial arts throughout one, though and started back a week after birthing. She's pretty tough.
Well, I just finished teaching a birthing class. It was so hard not to give away that I'm pregnant too. I really don't want them to know unless it is the end of the series (Bradley - 10 week long series). It is fun having the secret though and trying to follow along with the nutrition and exercise on my own.

so i have to drive to Peterborough today...argh!!..to see her.
i am a bit nervous due to some rumors about vbacs and NH law and what i "have" to do. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my mw (i transferrred to her at 36 with ds3 so i already had all the stuff done by them..was hoping not to have any medical interventions this time).
so my choices after today will be to see if i can stomach what NH wants me to have done (including an US which i was NOT going to do) and be w/ my beloved MW...OR go UC...im not sure. as a vba2cs...its scarey to go US completely..i had such a hands off MW....but i am so upset at the idea of the govt. telling me i have to subject my baby to an us.
oh well...lots of stress today. :(

I talked with both of my former midwives today. The one we had for DS3's birth is taking October off so that's a no go. The midwife I had for DD's birth e-mailed me and didn't say if she was willing/able to attend this birth or not so I am awaiting an email back. I'm hopeful though, because she is a GREAT midwife and a very very sweet person.
DH got the job offer in Texas. We should be jumping for joy, because it's his dream project. But... they won't be bringing him in until July. That seems to be cutting things perilously close for establishing a relationship with a midwife. And neither of us travel well, especially when there's heat involved. Moving in the heat of summer with uncertain health care on the other end, with a toddler and ginormously pregnant wasn't really how I envisioned spending the year.
I have a few emails out to midwives in the area - hopefully one of them will be able to "save" me a spot, so to speak. I'm so not stepping foot in a hospital there for birth, no matter HOW good my experience was with DS. I'm under the impression that Texas hospitals are somewhat hostile toward birthing women, and I won't put us in that environment.
:shrug I have no problem UC'ing, though it's not my first choice. We'll see.
HI that was a total pity party. Sorry. :o

You know, during my first pregnancy I was on the ivillage due date club and met a friend on there from Alaska who actually met up with me for coffee on a trip to Seattle once and we watched our babies play together! We've sort of lost touch lately, I should email.
With my DD's pregnancy, I was on the Mothering due date club and met a mom that lives about 15 minutes away. We became close friends and met after the babes were born. Now we have regular playdates for our older two and younger two. We gave birth at the same places, and we have been to Hawaii together!
Plus, I met my husband on match.com online. There is a lot to be said for connections - be they on-line or walking down the street. I look forward to sharing this pregnancy with you all. I hope mine sticks this time. Sending lots of baby dust to us all!

That's good number. Betas range anywhere from 5-426 in the first few weeks.
With my m/c at 8 weeks, my hcg numbers were in the 300's at 7 weeks. That is incredibly low for that time. They basically grow exponentially each day/week, so by that week mine should have been in the thousands at least. It was a sign of a problem (likely to be from the high fever and viral meningitis I had after ovulation) that the embryo stopped growing around the 3rd or 4th week. I had my blood drawn Monday and I'm waiting to see what they are this time around. I am kind of nervous. With DD my levels were so high that we did a level I U/S to see if it was twins, but it was just a very hormonal female.
I'm under the impression that Texas hospitals are somewhat hostile toward birthing women, and I won't put us in that environment.
I'm from Texas. My sister's births (at hospitals in East Texas) make me cringe. She even had on doc perform an episiotomy after she screamed at him not to several times and couldn't do anything in the stirrups to protect herself. This is all part of why I teach Bradley Method. That being said, I have heard of some nice midwives and a decent women's hospital in Houston. I hear Austin has some good mw's too.
This is so not fair! I have never been so sick so early in a pregnancy. Ugh!

I'm also a huge crank pot. Watch out for me! :irked:
Anyway, it's lunchtime and I want nothing. This is annoying b/c I'm hungry but don't feel like eating a damn thing. Dreams- I'm with you on the early onset of m/s - this blows. I thought I'd have at LEAST another week or so before feeling this poopie! Dinner last night was a catastrophe - I didn't want anything. Tre have been times when I have felt so awful, I will go to the store and just buy anything at all that sounds good. Hostess Cupcakes and Pop Tarts... Right now I feel so normal that's all hard to imagine... I willingly bought Pop Tarts?? :)
I sure didn't sleep last night. Just laid there. Then, as if she could tell, the minute I dozed off my 2 year old (who cosleeps) would fuss or stir or wet the bed (she just potty trained a couple weeks ago, but this is the first time she's ever wet). If I had a newborn, I think I would not have even closed my eyes last night...yawwwwwwwn.

leurMaman: :yikes: I hope your sister has healed okay :Hug .
Yay for teaching and helping to empower women, too - I'd love to do something like that, but there's that whole "ack! crowd!" thing. QUOTE]
Thanks! My sister is fine. In fact, she's a school nurse and is teaching birthing classes (though not natural birthing classes) to teenage mothers who turn up pregnant in her high school to help them avoid this.

Mrshawwk - I'm sleepless "near" Seattle too:) I feel exhausted at night, but I can't sleep too well.
I just posted on the "group B" thread I started, but my HCG levels for last Monday are 1559. My midwife thinks I was only 4 weeks not even 4.5 weeks at that time, so it is fine. I'm not doing an early u/s - at least I don't plan too.
DreamsinDigital, what did your tests say today? Are you feeling better about things? GL!

:scratch I haven't had any testing and likely won't for much of my pregnancy. We are basically UPing with my midwife's blessing, she is very anti-intervention. I will probably have an ultrasound around 8-12 weeks to determine whether or not there are twins, and possibly around 20 weeks for the anatomy scan and whatnot. That's pretty much it.

Well, I got my 2nd beta back.... 202. So now I have to go back for another monday. They're concerned because it nearly tripled and should have only doubled. I think they're flaming idiots. She said tripling usually means twins. I've never heard that. For that matter, she has no idea.... I'm one of those people who would FREAK out if it was. I do NOT want more than one at a time. Pregnancy is my favorite part and I don't want 2 for one! I want one at a time so that I can be the kind of mother that I want to be. I don't believe I could do that with twins.
But I don't feel that it is. I feel that there is one, lone girl in there. :)

Jord - I'm with you on the twins thing. I think I'd be mad if I found out it was twins, especially for my first baby. Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with twins, I'm sure they are wonderful, and if I had to cross that bridge of course I would, but I don't know if I could be that good of a mother and be able to handle both at once. I never dreamed of twins, never wanted them - and luckily there are none in my family, but you never know. But, regardless, I'm sure you're fine - I'm sure the dolt at the clinic is just being extra stupid.
Anybody got plans for the superbowl tomorrow? DH and I aren't fans but we are going to a vegan superbowl party tomorrow. Should be a ton of cool people and awesome food there! Hopefully there is something I feel like eating! As it is right now, the thought of chips, dips, etc makes my stomach turn...
We shall see!

Well, there is really no telling, since we can't be sure of the date of ovulation. Its a good enough number for me, though. That's probably it for the tests this first trimester. Guess we'll just wait and see how it goes.

With DD my m/w suggested it could be twins by the massive numbers and the rate of doubling, but it was one lone girl. It is really hard to tell from the numbers. Good luck, though - how exciting!!
I totally forgot today was superbowl sunday! DH is French and could care less - in fact, he's at work and I'm home with kiddos. What are you all doing for the grand fete? I'm feeling good - just had an amazing, long nap with a strange dream.

We're not doing anything special for the game - just noshing and lounging on the big overstuffed couch. Of course, we'll probably do a little yelling at the TV!
We had thunder and lightning during a snow storm last night. It was so cool.

I have twin brothers, 18 mo younger than I am. My mom says if the twins had been born first there would never have been a second pregnancy. But, of course she would never trade them for anything. I agree with you all, the challenge of twins is just more than I WANT. If God decides to bless me with twins, then yay! But, if not, then thank you, Lord!! :)
Not doing anything for the game. I don't like football and my hubby doesn't really care either, he might hang out with some friends just because that's what they do.
Isn't it weird to do normal things like go to the store? I feel like I should tell the checker I'm pregnant, because she obviously can't tell right now. Even when I'm having a normal conversation about the weather I am thinking "Yeah, it sure is cold but I'm pregnant...oh I'm pregnant and I heard there might be snow..but I'm pregnant so the wind won't bother me." :)

Why did I think today was Sunday this morning?
I kwym. I haven't kept this a secret at all. If a friend even looks at me funny I burst out with, "Yes I am! 5 weeks pregnant that is!"

And can I just tell you how bad I want these? :D I'm such a sucker for shirts like this. I have one that says, "I make milk - what's your super power?"
I've been eyeing these shirts for months (maybe closer to a year)!
Okay, can I just say that "Watermelon Smuggler" had me laughing harder than I've laughed in ages.
When I was pregnant with DS we went to a peace rally and I made a shirt that said
PEACE
BABY
People were pointing and laughing (in a good way!) all day.
