I got some test results back from the m/w today. She sounded positive and happy about things. My HCG is 1559 (not bad for 4 weeks when we took it - where it should be between 100 and 5000 roughly). My iron and Vit. D are up. Since I have a history of uninary tract infections, she ran a test on some urine and told me that it had high amounts of Group B Strept. She said that she recommends that I get on an antiobiotic - since high levels have been associated with weakening the amniotic membrane later in pregnancy and the typical problems during birth. She told me to wait until the 2nd trimester just to be on the cautious side (no antibiotics in 1st trimester if possible).
I tested pos. for Group B. in first pregnancy and had antiobiotics administered via an IV during labor at the birth center. I tested negative with DD's pregnancy and skipped them. Now I'm baffled about hearing this so early in pregnancy. Does anyone else have experience of knowledge of this? I'm already on probiotics, so I'm not sure what else to do. I don't mind taking antiobiotics either, just wanted to see if anyone knew more about it.
