DS is 22months. When I ask "Where is the baby?" he will point to my stomach and is starting to say hi and kiss my belly. What was your DC like when you were pg and trying to explain about the baby in your belly? And how old was your DC?

My DD is 28 months and she will do the same thing as your DS, but I'm not really convinced that she understands that there is a baby in there.

DD1 was 3 and she did those things as well, but I didn't feel she really "got it" until her sister was actually born. Then it was like "Oh, so Mommy wasn't just fat and crazy!" :lol She still talks about her birth.

At some point when I was very pregnant, she looked at the huge belly and said "Mommy, was that baby yummy?" Had to get in there somehow right?

My DD turned 2 in October and she knows there's a baby in my tummy and it's not ready to come out yet. She has her own baby in her ear, named Loni (I have no freaking clue where she got that name) and her baby isn't ready to come out yet either. She'll rub my belly, and tell me she is going to be a big sister, but I don't think she honestly has a clue what's going to happen. How could she?

same as you OP, almost 22 months. One book that might help is Baby on the Way by Dr. Sears which shows the silloutte of the mama pregnant, and then also the inside where the baby is. Ds seems to find that page facinating.

Thanks for the replies. i do know that my DS probably won't understand at all until the baby is actually here. I find it cute an dmy husband finds it very funny that I can say "Where's the baby?" and DS will lift up my shirt then kiss and hug my belly. He's almost more willing to kiss the baby / my belly then me sometimes! LOL It's really cute. I am looking for some good books to get him. I will look into the Dr Sears one. I also need good books about when baby is hear. AP friendly of course!
