It turns out my toilet-plunging skills are not what they need to be. I *have* a plunger, and I have a toilet that seems clogged (given the amount of TP I saw, I suspect the 3.5 yo was doing a science experiment, rather than other, grosser possibilities. I made a few tentative plunging attempts but had no effect. (Water's not on the floor, ftr.)

Can someone describe to me in great detail how to plunge a toilet? :bag:

I am terrible at plunging. One night at work I plunged for what seemed like an hour. Finally I asked a client if she would watch me plunge and tell me what on earth I was doing wrong :lol She grabbed the plunger, plunged once, and bye bye clog. That woman was a plumbers dream :lol She had "the gift" :lol

I finally had dh talk me through it! Sigh. I'm a plunging failure. :lol But it finally worked.

Glad it worked!

I've had that problem too - just not getting enough 'umph' in it or something. It is already a gross enough job when you don't have to do it over and over - UGH!

we purchased an 'auger' from home depot, kinda pricey, about $50 for super industrial stregnth but it has saved up many times over from the dreaded 'clog' that is one 'tool' that ever parent must invest in.
