I do. I feel sure that this baby is a girl and I've known her name for a while now. It's odd because I'm not one of those people who would ever say that... it sounds fruity. We're not telling anyone until the birth though.

I know how you feel - I'm a completely pragmatic and non-spiritual person, yet I dreamt of my daughter and her name when I first met my husband, and she was born in Dec of 2004 almost exactly as I dreamt. So I knew her name for 5 years before she was born.

This one will prove to be more challenging, DH and I each have our girl names we favour but we cannot agree at all on a boy's name.

We aren't telling anyone (irl) either...it seems like the moment I say "Pregnant" Everyones like "I have the perfect name for you" and they have problems with the ones you choose...my mom especially lol. She tried forever to change Aja's name to Simone...\
then you have the relatives that didn't have their sex of choice like my SIL who dreamt of a girl and wanted us to use the name she wanted if he had a girl.

ugh.

we've had ours picked out for 3 years~~ pretty much since we started TTC.
i'm sort of upset right now though...i made the mistake of telling my mom when she asked and while she loves or girl name, she actally made gagging noises at our choice for a boy :angry
my mom and i are very close and that was unusually mean for her, so it really hurt me(1st trimester hormones didn't help...)
so, now i'm not telling anyone else~~
my best friend is due to have a baby girl in 3 weeks and still doesn't have a name for her, so as she pointed out "if you love it, screw everyone else" :D

We've had ours picked out before we even conceived. I think we started discussing it after dd was born :D

If it's a boy it will be Samuel. No middle name. He will be fifth generation for my husband's side of the family, so he will get a cool "V" at the end of his name :thumb

If it's a girl it will be Charlotte. We haven't decided on a middle name yet. We're currently considering either Rose, May, or Luthien.

I have a bit of a feeling that it's going to be a boy. That will be great, but at the same time I would love to have another girl!

We are working on narrowing it down. I had a dream that I had boy/girl twins. If it comes true, their names will be Willow Rebecca and Sage Connor. If it's just a singleton, I'm not 100% decided yet.

For a girl: Eden Deniza
Boy: Absolutely no idea. DS1 wasn't named until he was 2 days old. :o
I love the name Jasper Sage but DP can't stand any name I come up with. His suggestions were Larry, Bill, Jared or Marcus which I can't stand.

I really hope it's a girl.

We had two girl names picked out a one boy name for our last pregnancy. So we had a girl and used one, now we still have our names picked out! I always tell people what names we have and everybody always hates them, and I just don't really care!!! Everybody is going to know someone with that name who they didn't like and/or think they name is too odd (at least in our case) and so I just ignore all opinions about our names.

We have a boy name picked out, but if this baby turns out to be a girl, I have no idea.

With my last baby, we had a girl name all picked out. Then we found out for sure it was a girl and suddenly it was like, "Oh. . . that isn't her name." I had a very definite name in mind for her, kept thinking of her as that name, had dreams about it, etc. DH felt the same way, and that's the name she is today! We always joke about it and say that she chose her own name. . . but considering her very strong personality, it's not really a joke!

I love both the names Willow and Sage! My husband though, sadly vetoed them.

I want a little girl, but I have a strong feeling it'll be a boy...

Rowan Javier - Javier being my husbands middle name, and Rowan just being awesome with its symbolism and history.

If I'm wrong though, she'll be Emma Hope, after two of my great grandmothers, and the little sister I never had (my mom always wanted 2 of each, but got 2 boys and me. Emma Hope was the other planned name, so when I was twelve I promised her that would be my first girl's name no matter what - it was even one of my conditions in marrying my husband!)

We haven't discussed it yet, my dh and I, but I'm finding that I'm gravitating back toward the names that he didn't like from when I was pregnant with dd. That tells me that I'm still in the unreality stage.

With a 5 year old, however, I know she'll want some input, especially since it's kind of a family tradition on my dh's side to let the older child choose a portion (or all) of the name. I'll need to head that one off at the pass, because I know that's a story she'll hear many times between now and October.

If dd had to choose for a girl, it would be Allie. I would love to go with Eavan, Bronte, or Aisling for a girl. I do know, however, that I really want an "L" name if it's a girl, and have even been trying out boys with L's too.

Soon enough the negotiations will start...

So pretty!

I don't really have names picked out yet. I like classic but not-so-common names, like Josephine (which someone mentioned), Paulina, Simone, Renata, and Irina. For boys I'm less sure--perhaps Thomas or Paul (both family names) or something more unusual like Leland. Boy names are harder for me than girl names.

We've not "seriously" discussed names yet, although there is a boy's name that we can actually both agree on. It's a little more popular than I'd like, but the husbandperson has strong reasons for liking it, so I can certainly compromise on that. For a little girl, we've got nothing. He has emphatically shot down every name I've suggested. :p

Last year I had decided that for a boy it would be Thomas Gideon or Henry something. Or if ended up with 2 boys than both! But SIL is having her baby 4 mos before me and she is naming her son Henry Lucius. For a girl I like Evelyn something or Amelia Rose. I told my DH we needed some backups in case the baby doesn't look like the name we picked out. He doesn't get that. :eyesroll

Can I just say that this scares the crap out of me!? We have definite names and no backups because we want to use the middle names of our deceased Grandfathers. I really love those names and we've had them picked out for years now. I really, really hope the baby looks like the name we have.

Dh doesn't want to discuss names until we know if it's a boy or a girl. Our names both start with M so we didn't want to give dd an M name. With a second child though it wouldn't be a family trend so M names are back on the list.

For girls I like Margaret and calling her Maisy. It's a Scottish nickname for Margaret and DH and his brother have Scottish names and so does DD. I like Victoria, Josephine, Charlotte, and some others as well. I like classic names, but I don't want anything that is too popular.

Boys are hard. I like Sebastian, Ian, Henry and probably some others.

When we were choosing DD's name we didn't want anything too popular so we took our names lists and DH made an excel spreadsheet with the name data from the SSA (http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/) that showed how the popularity of the name had changed over time. We eliminated names that were too popular or that looked like they were going to become super popular in the next few years.

We don't have any names picked. But, I've always found the name wizard to be lots of fun. anyone tried their names in it yet?

http://www.babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html

Sadly, I didn't discover it before DS came along, or I might have changed the order of his names around--his first name is quite popular, while his second name has never been in the top 1000 in the US (not that we're in the US, but that's what the name wizard tracks!).

I just checked Sage in it, and there have always been more boy than girl Sages so far, and it peaked in popularity just a year or two ago.
