had an u/s this morning, reassure me!

I thought I was about 6.2 weeks based on ovulation. The doc did the internal u/s and found the sac, but no embryo, He said the sac measured 5.5 weeks. His u/s machine is incredibley old and not so high tech and he said I could go to the hospital if I really wanted to, but they might not be able to see an embryo yet either. If they did, it of course would ease my mind, but if they didn't, it wouldn;t mean anything.

I had a u/s with my ds at 6.5 weeks and thats when we saw the heartbeat, but again it was at a different office with a better machine.
We ended up just making the appt for 10 days from today to see if anything has changed.

WHy do I put myself through this? Why didnt I just wait until 10 weeks to go when they usually take their first appts? (I got in early because I know the doc... I used to be his kids nanny)

With #1 I had a U/S at 6w, 3d and only saw a sack. I was measuring 5w,2d, so more than a week off. 2 weeks later there was a little heart beatting away and it was measuring right on schedule. It is really early and if implantation happened a bit later, you will be off on your dates. Everything will be fine.

i posted the same thing a couple of days ago. don't worry google pictures of
5 weeks 5days pregnant and you will probably get what i got the exact same picture. i have been told and everything i have read says we are not supposed to see anything yet. when you see it again in 10 days you will feel better.

How stressful :(.

I will tell you, with my daughter, I knew exactly when I ovulated, but didn't get a positive HPT until day 16 after ovulation. Then I had an early ultrasound which dated my pregnancy a week younger than I KNEW it was. When I went back and looked at my temps (I was charting), it turned out I had an implantation dip way later than average, which pushed back the timeline for everything.

Hugs to you while you wait! I'm getting tempted to get an u/s, but I'm hoping to wait until 20 weeks. Long wait!

thank you everyone. I do feel better. If the u/s is right and I am only 5.5 weeks, that means I got a bfp at 9 dpo, unless I ovulated EARLIER than I thought I did. which wouldnt explain anything. I am so confused. but whatever. i am pregnant.
