Well, it took me 2 years of ttc-ing, and 8 losses, but now I finally made it to this board! This is going to be my keeper pregnancy. I had a fibroid removed in April, which had been causing the miscarriages. So this should be a very boring, uneventful pregnancy now :)
I started out panicking when I got my BFP, but I have gotten a bit calmer now. What will be, will be. The lines have been getting darker over the last 3 days, which didn't happen with my early miscarriages. I have decided not to go in for hcg testing though, there just is too much stress involved in that, and I do not need that right now.
My friend verbalized it very well when she said 'I think it's much better for your baby if you go outside and garden, than if you subject yourself to the testing circus' I realized that she was right, and I spent most of the day digging potatoes :-)
So I am not going to do quantitative hcgs, and I am not going to do ultrasounds, unless there is a medical reason. Instead I am going to garden, cook, bake, can, freeze, read, and write, and enjoy this pregnancy as long or as short as it may last. I fully intend it to last 8 more months though!
If I make it through the next 7 days without bleeding, I will be past 88 % of my miscarriage dates. I will feel even more confident once I have passed that milestone!!!
Happy to be here, and intending to stay for a long long time :-)
