Hey ladies,
I have had a lot of round ligament pain this pregnancy. It seems like more than with ds. Also, after a long walk around the block the right side of my pelvis was actually sore to the touch. And today after I sneezed it felt like I pulled something. Is any of this dangerous? Anyone else have the same symptoms?

Right here! I had it so bad I went to emerg because I thought there was something wrong with the baby. The resident doc I saw told me it usually happens between 18 and 20 weeks and goes away between 22 and 24 weeks,...just enough time for your ligaments to adjust to your uterus popping out. She told me that since I'm carrying low, it's putting a lot of strain on my ligaments. Nothing to be done about it really, except apply heat, take Tylenol, avoid any heavy lifting, and wear a maternity support belt if it really bugs you. It never got that bad for me, but I did follow my osteopath's recommendations and do some pregnancy approved ab strengthening on a daily basis...that seemed to help.

This is my first pregnancy, and I haven't seen a doctor, so take my anecdote with salt...
I was having a huge amount of soreness just above the pelvic area for weeks around 18-20 weeks. Especially after a lot of standing up or walking - I used to walk 20 minutes each way to work every day. Eventually I looked it up and decided it must just be round ligament pains - it felt like an overworked muscle rather than a sharp, cutting pain. So I drank more water, stopped walking around so much and waited... now, at 22 weeks, the pain is all but gone. Only if I find myself standing for long periods of time (30 minutes or more) do they come back at all.

Thanks for your responses:) I am 16 weeks this week so I am wondering if I am feeling it more because this is my second pregnancy? I did look it up and it all sounds normal but I am concerned because once it gets nice outside ds and I are A LOT more active. We walk to the park daily and go to the zoo weekly. I want to be able to do all that especially because I want to be in shape for the birth!

I was still with my OB when my round ligament pain started. It was so bad one night (a Saturday) that I thought I was having contractions. I couldn't even get out of bed! I called the OB on Monday morning, they had me come in immediately for an u/s and put me on bed rest for two weeks, and half days for two more. I really enjoyed the paid time off of work (doing things other than resting), but after discussing it with other pg women, found out this was totally normal and that it was just round ligament pain! lol... I'll know next time. It eventually went away altogether.

ME! This is my third pregnancy and it is SO bad. I remember in my other pregnancies I wondered what round ligament pain even felt like... well wonder no more my friend.
It hurts so bad that it's almost impossible to get out of bed without horrible pain. It hurts to put on my pants, run, etc.
My midwife said it can get worse with each pregnancy because your uterus grows faster with each one. I'm 29 weeks and it's as bad as ever though so I don't know if you can technically say when it goes away.

I've had it really bad up until a week or so ago. I am almost 31 weeks so hopefully that was the end of it. I usually put some pressure and rub where it hurts the most and it usually helps. Hope yours feels better soon.
