While I am not getting any yet, I know that killer vomit-inducing heartburn is on its way to haunt me.

Short of single-handedly supporting the employees of both TUMS and Zantac (like I did last pregnancy - and still threw up from heartburn every other day from month 3 to month 9)...what can I do to tackle the heartburn? Any interesting remedies I might not have heard of?

Milk sometimes does it for me and almonds are pretty effective as well.

I've already stocked up on papaya enzyme and slippery elm lozenges... they aren't perfect but they at least have let me minimize the Tums usage in the past.

I already have heartburn here and I can't believe it. I didn't have it until month 8 with both of my other pregnancies! What the heck!? I also feel nauseous though and didn't have that much at all with my other ones.

I notice that I don't get heartburn when I eat mint ice cream. Yum. Otherwise I don't really know what to do about it! But I have heard of papaya enzyme... maybe I should try that!

I've started it now, which I'm guessing is hormonal because at 5 weeks my child is not big enough to put pressure on my stomach ;)

Last time for the whole last trimester I took two calcium supplements before bed (it works like Tums but without the 'extras) and didn't eat after 4:30.

I've heard of papaya too, but never tried it. The calcium worked for me :)

The heartburn started last night for me. Boo!
It wasn't bad ...so TUMS worked.
I just swear that I gained 10lbs last pregnancy from drinking milk (1%... I guess I should switch to skim) because I chugged so much due to heartburn. I'd rather not have that happen again!
