I was induced at the hospital instead of my planned homebirth with a midwife, and I'm still working through my anger/disappointment, plus my mom keeps saying things that I don't remember about the birth. How does one go about getting the medical record of their birth and do you think it would be helpful to me?

depending on how long since your birth, you would need to call either your attending care provider or hospital records department. they may charge you a small fee to take a copy with you. it may or may not actually help you, but i'm a fan of having all the facts either way.

I did not have any plan of a homebirth with DS, but his birth left me very scared. Due to other things that have happened in my past I tend "losing" my memories of hard times... I wanted to go about getting the records from his birth. I happened to be very luck and asked my MW with this baby if she would mind getting then and giving them to me. That is one option, ask a Dr. you have now they they would mind doing that for you. Or you can get in touch with the hospital its self, they might charge you though.

They are YOUR records.... they can not keep them from you.
