I have started to have Braxton Hicks now and I am 6 months. I have been checked and they are not making me dialate so my midwife said that they are normal BH and they are just getting me ready. Nothing to worry about she said. So my question is, does having normal BH in the middle of pregnancy make your body ready for a fast birth? As well as indicate that you won't go past due? I'm just curious!
Thanks,:love

I doubt it. Most women actually experience BH throughout their pregnancy, they just don't feel them until later on or don't recognize what they are.

I have always felt BHs from very early on, and it definitely didn't make my labors fast, 19h and 8.5h, but both my DD's did come naturally at 38 weeks. I don't think that was from the Braxton Hicks though.

That hasn't been the case for me. I've always felt BH very early on, with my twins they started at 8 weeks. All of my labors have been pretty long and drawn out and I even went into the actual labor very dilated (like 8 1/2 cm for a week with the twins.) My first pregnancy went until 40 weeks 5 days and I was in hard labor from 9cm on for 11 hours. The twins came at 39 weeks with the help of herbs and rupturing the membranes. Their labors were 2 hours for the oldest baby and almost 7 hours for the second baby. I think that BH definitely do something but overall everyone just labors the way their body is set up to.
