Anyone else having trouble wearing wedding rings or other jewelry? I can't get my wedding and engagement bands on and I am so bummed. I lost a ton of weight before getting pg with DD (now 3) so I was able to wear my rings the whole time with no problems. Then I had them sized. Now they won't fit. :( I was considering getting some other type of ring or jewelry to wear til the new lil one arrives, but I don't know what to get. And I live in a very very conservative area where people do look at preggo mamas' left hands. (I know, I used to be one of them. Little did I know!)

Ideas? What do y'all think?

I am able to wear my rings so far - but I totally sympathize with the people looking thing! I realized I have totally done that in the past, and now I feel bad because I'm beginning to understand the meaning of bloating...

i've had to move my wedding band to my right hand, since it fits a little tighter than my engagement ring and was getting hard to get off (my right ring finger is smaller, weirdly). But, I still have the engagement ring on my left hand, so if people don't notice the wedding band on my right, at least they'll maybe think I'm having a shotgun wedding or something!

There are also places (like Carat*) that make really realistic looking (to my untrained eye, anyway) fake diamonds, and I've made DH promise to buy me a pseudo-engagement or wedding ring like that when nothing fits anymore, so i can still have sparkle, even though it's fake! Kind of shallow, maybe, but pretty!

Another idea someone suggested to me was to wear your wedding rings on a necklace, but i would only do that if it had a REALLY strong clasp. It also doesn't totally solve the problem if people don't look up from your hand or don't notice it.

Or, you could just defiantly go ring-less and hold your head up high!

But yeah, I sympathize. I totally did that too. Then I read Jenny McCarthy's book and she talks about people giving her the evil eye for not having a wedding ring on.

My sister actually had kind of this problem, but not because she was pregnant - she was traveling with her then-boyfriend to a country that really frowns upon unmarried couples sharing rooms, and in some places won't allow it at all, so they both bought cheap silver bands and pretended they were married! That's a good option too. You could probably find a fairly simple silver band somewhere for under $50 that was at least passable as a wedding ring.

:( I'm sorry Mama! :hug

I'm praying my hands don't swell too much. Our wedding isn't until August and when we bought the rings in February it fit PERFECT, so I didn't have to get it sized... I really don't want to have to get it sized just for this summer then again after baby. lol

Mine are snug but still fit since I'd lost a bunch of weight after DD and never had them sized. If you wore your rings on a necklace, would that count?

*I* think it counts. :) It's really none of their business anyway. But my hand does feel naked.

I bought DH a leather-strap bracelet since he can't wear his wedding band (he works in the oilfield, too dangerous to wear a ring). I'd like to have something like that. We just got a James Avery store and they have sterling silver wedding bands for $35. I'd like to have something really cool though, or something that I could incorporate into my wedding band/engagement ring combo later. Maybe I can win the JA $500 gift certficate and get something sparkly! (They have grand-opening giveaways next weekend.) :)

Maybe I'll borrow one of my g-gma's rings from my mom. She has a couple of heirloom bands saved.

I'd be scared to wear the necklace though; afraid it'd break.

We camped last weekend with friends who have wedding rings tattooed on their left 3rd fingers...cool idea, but a little late for me. Pretty sure tattoos are up there with sushi, smoking, and beer during pg. LOL

I took my ring off today too. I know I'm a bit heavier then where I started out with S, but this is ridiculous! I've been having some problems with pain in my fingers so I'm thinking my joints are swollen. I might go in tomorrow to see if I can get it resized.

I had this happen with my son, I had pre-e and swelled up so much I was scared they'd get stuck on. I ended up going to Target and getting a "stand-in" cubic zirconia and wore that until after delivery.
