Severe m/s doesn't usually set in for me until around 7 or 8 weeks so I am making a contentious effort to enjoy whatever appeals to me while I can! This morning I made strawberry shortcake :eat: and this afternoon I gobbled up some flax seed chips and green chili dip. Last night for dinner all I wanted was roasted veggies so I went to the farmers market and got potatoes, onions, carrots, brussel sprouts, garlic, mushrooms and we tossed them in EVOO and red wine vinegar and lightly salted them. It was delicious!

What is everyone eating???

Bleh. As little as possible. With DD I was like you Leogirl, no m/s and ate whatever I wanted. But with this one I've been sick as a dog. Praying it ends with the first trimester!

Ohhh, you misread lol. I've suffered Hypermesis with 2 out of 4 and the only reason I didn't last time was thanks to Zofran. I get incredibly sick, but not usually until 7 or 8 weeks in. I'm 5w and about 4 days now...so it will hit soon enough.

Hang in there!!!

M/S kicked in today... begining of my 7th week. So mints sound great today. lol

Still craving a baked potato actually... since last night... it'd probably be more of a pain to go to the store and get everything I want on it than to go to a restruant and get one though. :p lol

I've eaten so much meat these last couple days, its crazy!!

I had ribs for lunch yesterday and pork and lamb for dinner. Soooo good.

And mashed potatoes. But I could eat mashed potatoes for every meal too.

I feel siiiick unless I'm eating potatoes with yogurt and salt, drinking lemonade, or (today) eating something that approximates my mother's fried chicken. (It was Bell&Evans chicken nuggets. I ate a whole box.)

Also muskmelon.

Anything green sounds terribly unappealing.

I crave chocolate milkshakes ALL the time! With whipped cream please!

Mornings i always want plain yogurt and a bowl of cheerios,
but I have wild cravings later in the day ... I had to leave work early on Friday because i NEEDED a bacon bbq cheeseburger. Beef stew last night. Pepperoni pizza last week. Normally I'm a brown rice and steamed greens kind of girl, but right now all I want is fat, protein, and dairy!

Potatoes... Oh my, you are bringing back memories. When I was pregnant with dd, I moved cross-country at about seven weeks. All I could eat were creamy white things: Kentucky Fried Chicken mashed potatoes and McD's vanilla ice cream. I swear I made my dad stop at every KFC we passed... :lol ... until I discovered I could eat steak! (That made both of us a lot happier!)

I'm still craving guacamole, chips & salsa, but DH is getting REALLY sick of going to Mexican places - I would go for lunch and dinner every day if I could get away with it! :eat:

Lemonade too... mmmm. Must be very lemony and real, though. At brunch on Sunday the waitress brought me Snapple lemonade in a glass, which is just awful sugar water. I threw a little fit, like "this isn't lemonade" "yes it is" "no, it's sugar water - there's no lemon in there" "well it's what we have, it's snapple" "well, i wanted real lemonade." "sorry we don't have that" "fine, but i don't want THAT."

Anyone else having a short temper too? :lol

What I'm eating is NOT what I want. I desperately want a Papa John's pizza, dripping with cheese. What I'm craving seems to be cheese. And Doritos. I'm trying to get ahold of my best friend to get me some, but I haven't had any luck so far (I can't drive, so I have to wait until DH gets home at 11:30 for anything). I also want my spaghetti, but again, not an option (not only do we not have a stove we can use, but it's such a pain cooking on a hot plate and we don't have all the ingredients). *sigh* I'm hungry, but everything that's available looks gross.

I'm avoiding Mexican food for a few more weeks still because that's what got me into labor with Lilly.

I have a weird spicy craving, too. I'm only 5 weeks and 3 days. Dh and I just made some jalapeņo poppers. Definitely, not on the "light" side.

fresh jalapeņos
cream cheese, softened
bacon

slice off the top and cut the peppers in half and scrape out the seeds and vein
fill each pepper half with cream cheese and wrap with a 1/4 to 1/2 piece of bacon. Lay halves on a rack on a cookie sheet at 350 for about 45ish minutes.

Man, they are so good. I think I could eat them for every meal. :drool

Stir fried peppers, squash, carrots and onions in Trader Joe's soyaki sauce with big chunks of marinated tofu. Served over pasta 'cause my kids ate all the rice. I have had a fried egg and cheese sandwhich before bed every day this week so far. What I am NOT eating is anything green and leafy or yogurt. I am supposed to avoid wheat due to the twins' food sensitivity, so almost everything else in the house is too much work when I am really hungry. I really want gobs and heaps of potatoes, but they are the main trigger food for my GD, so I am actively avoiding all things potato.:(

Me Me Me!!! I could eat all day, but I'm trying so hard not to! I've been drinking pregnancy tea to fill in the gaps. Today (and it is just noon) I've had multi-grain cheerios and a big bowl of potatoes (I love to cut them up, drizzle them with EVOO, sprinkle garlic and red chili powder on them and bake them for 20min or so...mmm), and I'm on my 2nd cup of pregnancy tea. I'm jonseing some saltines with grated sharp cheddar on them..but that isn't very healthy so I'm seeing if that "need" goes away. lol :eat:

BTW, the other night I got 2 chili rellenos smothered in red chili, it was SO good!!!!! :yum

I had lots of cravings for all things spicy with my son...we're not finding out but I've been leaning that way ever since I found out lol.

I've been an eat-ohlic today :eat:. Before getting out of bed I had a handful of Annie's Cheddar Bunnies and some water. Breakfast was steel cut oats, with diced apple, cinnamon, a splash of milk, and honey. After that a dozen garlic non-breaded shrimp and a glass of lemon water. Then carrots and broccoli with hummus. A few pieces of caramel Dove chocolates. A handful of mesclun salad. One hard boiled egg. And for lunch, a bowl of pinto beans with two garlic cloved chopped into it and sprinkled with salt. Oh and more water. Oh and a few bites of cereal here and there. :lol

OMG, for lunch, I *desperately* wanted tator tots. Like, I would kill for them.

Then, lunch comes, and the only place that has tator tots (Sonic) in the area had a line of about 15 cars in the drivethrough, and all the spaces were filled in the little parking area. WTF?! I didn't want to take that long of a lunch today so I could go home early. So I said screw it, and immediately, all I wanted was something with grilled pineapple. So I went to Carl's Jr instead, with all its lovely grease and fat.

And I am now satisfied. And since we are going to a friend's graduation party this evening, and its going to be at McMenamins, I will still get my tator tots. :D

I am the exact opposite of the PP--today, EVERYTHING is good. I would seriously be eating non-stop if I could. It started last night when I was shopping with my husband for supplies to work on the yard and I had to have a veggie burger from my favorite local restaurant RIGHT THAT MINUTE. He took me there, thankfully, and I inhaled that veggie burger and could have easily had another one--and they're HUGE, like half-pound burgers.

Today, I packed my lunch to eat with my co-workers, but then I only made it to 11:30 before I ran up to the cafeteria and got a big pile of beef and noodles. It just sounded SO GOOD. I'll eat the packed lunch tomorrow, I guess.

Right now I'm trying to talk myself out of walking down to the cupcake bakery and bringing one back. The little devil on my shoulder says "If you walk there, it's EXERCISE!"

B(reakfast): grapefruit
S(nacks): steamed whole milk w/caramel sauce
L(unch): salad (mixed greens, raw corn, grated carrots, sliced fiji apple, sliced marinated tofu, lemon juice, olive oil)
S: 1/2 coke zero, a few salt & vinegar kettle chips, vitamin water, 4 vegie breakfast links, water with lemon
D(inner): polenta, 1 egg over medium, smoked gouda
S: raw almonds, hot cocoa (unsweetened cocoa, a bit of raw agave, a bit of almond milk), cherry tomatoes, fresh mango, ginger chews, frozen banana-strawberry-almond milk smoothie, herbal tea

i feel great! there were a few days of feeling very icky & nauseous but it has passed. i dunno if it's away for good or if i'm keeping it @ bay by eating all day long + practicing yoga in the a.m. but i'm grateful for it.

I think today I'm going to drink water. And only drink water. Bleah. This nausea is horrible.

Ahhh all I can eat are carbs. So far today I've eaten a bagel and applesauce. Nothing else is appetizing. Last night I had avocado rolls which were good, maybe it was the ginger. DS brought me home 2 but I went back to the sushi place and bought myself 2 more :o so I did just eat one of those.

Last 2 days all I have been able to keep down without discomfort is cheese pizza. I had some teriyaki and veggies for lunch yesterday and that was a mistake. The kicker is that I don't normally like cheese pizza or cheese much at all.

Ugggg....I'm starving, but so sick, it is so not working.

I've already thrown up three times today. >.<

The worst part is, my morning sickness started on Thursday, when I traveled to Chicago for my DH's sister's wedding. Flying back on Monday, I got to vomit on the plane. \o/ It was so enjoyable!

Ugh... I can't read this thread. Y'all's picks all make me want to throw up. :(

Earlier, I really wanted cornmeal pancakes and bacon. I still kind of do, but only when I'm lying flat on my back. Any uprightness and the nausea gets me.

I can't get the husband to cook it for me, either, because he's grumpy due to extreme lack of sleep.
