Yes, I know I'm pregnant. Still, I gotta put this out there: I'm uncomfortable! Like, all the time. I'm only 7 weeks in and haven't started vomiting (maybe this is not my fate) but there's this incessant back ache, total loss of appetite, fogginess on the brain, constant thirst.

All in all, I feel flu-like. Not that I'm complaining. Well, kinda. But...ugh. Other than that, I'm digging this pregnancy thing!

Still, the question is, when will I start feeling "normal" again?

(obviously, this is my first)

The only normal thing in pregnancy is that everything is abnormal! ;-)

I felt like myself again at 14-15 weeks. Probably would have been 13 weeks, but I got the flu that week.

Yep - that's actually how I describe the 1st tri to people. 3 months of having the flu. Hang in there!

I think you start feeling normal again around the time your last child goes off to college.

I'm sure it's different for everyone (and each of their pregnancies, too), but I didn't feel so hot the first trimester (fatigue and nausea). Now that I'm well into my second trimester, I feel GREAT! I'm enjoying every minute of it, too - because I don't know what to expect for the third trimester. :D

Hang in there. I'm hoping you are feeling great soon, too.

Gotta agree with crosscat--I feel wonderful now, at 26 weeks. I had some lingering nausea, though, until about 17 or 18 weeks. It went away pretty gradually.

For me, the things all end at different times--in 3 pregnancies, I haven't (yet) vomited, but my appetite is really iffy until the 2nd trimester, and I have lots of exhaustion and some nausea until about the same time. I was very thirsty around the same time you are now, but that went away in about 2 weeks (I'm now 10.5 weeks and not feeling so excessively thirsty). With my daughter, the brain fogginess didn't completely go away until about 4 weeks after she was born--I'm hoping that's different for me this time, because I'm very invested in my job and it's hard at the moment to concentrate... but I'm just coping.

For backache--the minute I got it with my pregnancy with my daughter, I got myself to a pool and swam daily for the entire 2nd trimester and most of the 3rd trimester as well--and had no more back pain as soon as I started. That's not working this time (for back pain that started way earlier), but when I do cat/cow pose, my back feels much better.
