View Full Version : if your morning sickness wasn't gone at the end of the first trimester, when did it go away?

I'm really hoping I'm not going to be one of those poor souls who has morning sickness the whole pregnancy. With DD it was gone by this point (13.5 weeks) but so far it has shown no signs of retreat, and I'm starting to worry a bit.

Don't worry yet, with ds is ended at about 20 weeks. Longer than you probably want but it did end.

Gradually, almost so I didn't notice that I was feeling better--until I felt well again at about 17 or 18 weeks.

Not till the third trimester with my twins....I had killer morning sickness with them.

With both my singletons I think it was over by 2nd trimester

With my first pregnancy it ended somewhere around 16 weeks, but never fully went away. I still got sick a few days a week. This time, I haven't had any so far.

well one time it ended at the end of 1st trimester appox. the other time, i was sick through the whole pregnancy. Not as sick the first trimester as I was the 3rd and 1st. The 3rd trimester wasn't as bad as the 1st in that I only threw up about 2-4 times a week, where as the first trimester it was 3-6 times a day. BUt i have not heard of many other people who went through that.

My morning sickness persisted until I quit being a vegetarian (or 7 years) and finally ate meat every day. The sickness never returned as long as I ate meat. Non meat sources never worked enough. I tried, but there is something about meat.

Mine ended around 17-18 weeks. I remember crying when I officially hit the second trimester and complaining to my DH because the morning sickness was supposed to magically be gone!

You don't want to know.

With DD I had mild nausea for maybe 12-14 weeks. With this pg I STILL have morning sickness (at 8.5 months). However, it is MUCH better than it was in the beginning and I'm getting better every day at handling it. But I complain to DH on a regular basis that I feel like I've had the stomach flu for a very very very long time, and when I'm feeling down I wonder if it will ever go away - even after I deliver!!

I know I'm not the norm at all. And the very least it should fade more and more the further you get into the pg. And 13.5 weeks is still well within the norm for morning sickness.

With dd it was 15 weeks. Still no sign of it ending at 16 weeks with this one...

20 or 21 weeks with DS, and 16 weeks with this one (since I'm only 18 weeks, I'm still not completely convinced it won't come back!).

I'm not even gonna tell you, mama. Everyone is so different.... with some people it goes away all-of-a-sudden, and with other people it just gradually diminishes, and other people never feel better.

Just take it one day at a time and do what you have to do to get through each day. Don't judge yourself too harshly.

Well dd was born at 29 weeks, but my all day sickness was still going strong then. I don't know how long it would have lasted if she hadn't been premature. With this one I'm about 13 weeks and it hasn't let up.

With my first son, I was well into my 7th month before I didn't throw up every day.
With my second, it was about 6 months or so.

I'm only 6-7 weeks now and I'm hoping it doesn't last as long this time...

With my 1st pregnancy I was throwing up until my 17th week, and then one day I just felt better. It was better with my 2nd pregnancy.

It took longer with my second pregnancy. With ds, I woke up at 12 weeks and it was gone. This time, it was 16-17wks (and MUCH worse from the start!). Hang in there--hope you feel better soon.
