I think my dd has fifths disease. Having just found out I'm pg I am terrified about this. I'm taking her to the doc to have her officially diagnosed and I am waiting for a call from my mw to see what testing can be done on me.

I read that many adults are immune to the disease, and only about 5% of infected pregnant women experience fetal problems. So the odds are in your favor. Let us know what happens....

I had my blood tested today, hopefully I'll get the results quickly to see if I am already immune.
I understand the risks, but there's a reason people get a little paniked when fifths disease and pregnancy are mentioned in the same sentence.

*hugs* Mama... I can totally understand your fears. I was exposed to, and caught, chicken pox during my pregnancy with DS, which can come with some pretty serious complications as well.

I decided not to undergo any testing as it wouldn't have changed my plans anyway, and I was fortunate to have a perfectly healthy baby in the end. I will be praying for the same for you.

Still waiting for the results.....

In the past couple of days I have managed to hear stories from both sides of the spectrum. :shrug I'm still a little freaked out. My luck I will be one of the few people who did not get it as a child....sigh.
