We have a first time mommies thread so I thought we could use our own.
This is our 5th baby. Anyone else already have children? Anyone else have lots of children? :wink

This is my 2nd babe. My first is 2 and just finished potty learning. I'm glad we finished before I got pg. I am so tired right now and more than a little nauseas.
I'm a little worried about having 2 it seems like a huge change. Right now my son is our world and it will be strange to split my time between 2.

2nd baby for us - I have a 13 month old son.
How are you ladies doing? Anyone feeling a little sad? I feel guilty that my son won't have us all to himself...

This is our 3rd. Our other 2 are so close together and it has worked out very very well for us. they are now to the point where they entertain each other- at first it was a lot of work. I think this one will either be a piece of cake or drive me over the edge. Either way.....

This is number two. We just found out last night and I'm still trying to digest it all. I'm 42! EDD is Feb. 7, one day after my b-day. I'm still freaking out a bit.

This is my second pregnancy but third child... we have 22 month-old twins! And, as I said in another post, I have a suspicion that there are more than one this time too! I'm just realizing that the timing of this pregnancy/birth will coincide with a lot of milestones for the twins--potty learning (hopefully), switching to a toddler bed, and adjusting to a sibling.... hmmm should be interesting!

This is my 4th pregnancy--the first one resulted in my son, the second in another son who passed away, the third a miscarriage. And my daughter was adopted from Vietnam. :)

This is my 4th pregnancy 3rd baby. We just found out yesterday & the edd is Feb 8th. ALthough everyone is being told(when we tell them) the beginning of Feb. We have a 4 yr old & 6 yr old daughters. I'm anxious to see how they react, the 4 yr old has been unusually clingy lately.

This is our 3rd. Like iowaorganic, I've got 2 boys 2yrs apart, and the hard stage seems to be behind us. Right now they keep each other entertained, and life has been really great lately.
This is the first pregnancy I'm totally thrilled about from the start. That sounds horrible, but with my first, altho planned and desperately wanted, I was a little apprehensive about how everything was going to change. I was content to just be pregnant... Then my 2nd was a suprise and a little soon, and like several mamas here, I wondered how we'd handle switching gears from an only to 2. (Don't worry too much, its amazing to see your children together, and your love just multiplies!)Now I can't wait, its all going to be awesome and I just want this pregnancy to fly by so I can meet our next little one.
We've always planned on 4 or 5, but this might be our last, we'll see how life goes! :)

another baby # 3 here. I have 2 wonderful daughters already. An almost 2 1/2 year old and a 5 year old. They will be just 3 (jan) and almost 6 (March), so it looks like we are aiming for three birthday months in a row. LOL. A little stressful following the whole holiday season and so many family birthdays in Jan.
I was very nervous about how it would go when adding my 2nd child to the family. Your love grows and there is easily a place for your next child. The one thing to look out for, is to make sure you don't always let people help with the older one. They are all trying to be nice and let you have time with the new baby which is very good, just make sure (if you have people helping) that they take the baby sometimes and you do something special with the older child. You need to actually set things up like this b/c the older child can wait for things wile the baby can't.
The love they have for each other is amazing. Watching them play just makes your heart swell. (they will fight too :eyesroll ). I sometimes felt bad for the younger one too b/c she didn't get as much one on one attention as her older sister got, but they get something in exchange they get an older sibling with whom they can play and communicate.

This is my 2nd baby as well. I have a 19 mo. old dd and I also feel a little sad for her to not have us all to herself anymore. When I mentioned that to dh, though, he said he isn't sad at all. He was an only child and he is soooo excited that she will have a little brother or sister to grow up with. He always wished he had one. It made me feel a lot better to hear his POV on it.
I'm hoping there is only one in there, mainly because I want a VBAC but also because twins are such hard work. DH is hoping for twins behind my back and I know it is a possibility since it runs on both sides of our family. My dd has 2 young Kurdish girls who take care of her at dc and they told me it is a tradition in their culture to ask the older child what the baby's gender will be. Every time we ask her she says, "sister brother." I'm hoping that doesn't mean I've got one of each!!:o

Hello, this is our fifth pregnancy! Wow! And 4th baby. Each of our children have been about 2 1/2 years apart. We have 2 girls and a boy.
Last night I was talking about a friend of ours who will be having a baby any day. I told my oldest daughter that her friend might even now have a baby brother. Our youngest daughter (just turned two) said "baby brother. me baby brother." I said you want a baby brother? She said "yes, baby" in the cutest voice and made a tiny circle with her fingers. I had been "feeling" also that this baby would be a boy. We'll just see.

Hey this is great!, 2 other mamas with twins and baby on the way. Makes me feel a little less nervous.
So my question for you two is: When is the best time to find out how many are in there?! I am dying to know! I think I remember reading somewhere that at 10-11wks they can clearly see how many and it is a good time to look at sacs if there are two. :shrug

This is pg #4 for me, but I only have one living child. I really want to have a huge family, so I am hoping my two back-to-back m/c were just flukes.
I would love twins. I was hoping the clomid would help with that, but I don't think my beta was high enough for there to be two in there (it was 79 at 13dpo). I guess I'll find out for sure in July. I am having an u/s at a little over 8 weeks.

I am anxious to know, too! Although I suspect it's just one this time. I don't feel sick at all (just peeing a lot and thirsty all the time), whereas when I was preg w/ my twins I was feeling sick well before the 4-week mark. Although they say every pregnancy is different so who knows!! I will be thrilled with twins again, but on the other hand having a singleton will probably seem like a vacation!
I have heard of someone finding out they had twins as early as 7 weeks. As tempting as it would be, I don't think I'd want an u/s that early, though!

:o I started feeling sick right around 4 weeks. I have a weird feeling that I might have twins. My sister told me about a convo she had with her friend. She told her friend I was pregnant and her friend said, "I knew it!! I had a dream about her and she had twins."
Not exactly scientific evidence:eyesroll, but I do pay attention to dreams like that. I'm taking part in a research study that involves getting a US in 2 weeks (I'll be 8 weeks), I'm hoping to find out then.

Ok I just had an u/s at 5 1/2 weeks and the answer to How Many was.... Not sure! There was one good-sized sac and one teeny weeny one. My doc said based on the size discrepancy, I'll probably end up with a singleton in there, but she's not sure. I'm going back next Friday- I hope there will be a more definitive answer then!

This is my second! I am SO excited :D my EDD is February 12 and I am planning for another natural birth but at home this time.
DD is 26 months and almost 100% potty learned, we are going to work on night weaning this weekend which is a long time coming, and she is VERY excited about her baby brother (as she calls the baby) She already loves to kiss my belly :love

Thank you for that, CandyApple--this is our 2nd and it definitely wasn't planned. We used the withdrawal method, which has always worked when we wanted it to...this time there was obviously a baby being who had other plans :thumb I'm excited and a little apprehensive since my son is only 17 months...your words help me feel my own inner sense of awareness that not only will things be okay, they will be amazing :love

Just found out Monday! I'm over the complete shock of it all and am feeling okay about it but dd is 5+ and I was planning on going back to work this fall.
I just want to get past the first scary trimester and I'll feel more comfortable I think.

I just found out I was pregnant yesterday; it was QUITE unexected so my husband and I are walking around in utter shock! This will be baby #4 for us: my older son is 10, my daughter is 5, and my younger son will turn 1 later this month. So the youngest two will be pretty close together in age!
My thid period after giving birth to my youngest was due 15 days ago and I'd taken two pregnancy tests days apart when my period was more than a week late, both negative. I had one left, so yesterday I figured I might as well take it. Well, you can guess the reading! I must have conceived around the time my period was due, the time we were sure was "safe"! I about fainted when I saw that second line. :dizzy: And it took a lot of nerve to even tell my husband later that day! He was just talking seriously about getting a vasectomy. :innocent
But, we'll deal. :o We plan to wait quite a while to tell everyone, though. We have too many judgmental family members who thought three was too many!
I am looking forward to working with my midwife team again, though I had no idea it would be so SOON (or even if it would ever happen again at all)! I had a wonderful homebirth with baby #3. :)

Hi all,
Congrats on your pregnancies. I haven't really been on the boards for awhile since DD #6 was born a year ago, but just like clock work here I am. I was hoping because of my Advanced Age "36" :thumb It would be longer between babies, but that is not the case, so here I am expecting #7. This will be my 7th pregnancy. and to be honest, I am having some mixed emotions right now. Anyway, I hope you all have happy and healthy pregnancies, and I will look forward to sharing the ins and outs of the next 9 months with you all.:lurk:
