This was never a symptom we dealt with, but I'm curious to know if your baby had blood in his/her stool, how much did you see and how often?

It was after a super bad reaction to beef. Dairy had been out of my diet for a while, but the beef affected her just as bad. I think if I ate dairy today, she would have blood again by tomorrow. For about a week, there was a small amount of visible blood. It was really just some pink tinged mucus, and some red strands here and there- it looked like little, tiny bits of thin red string. There were just a couple days when it was pretty obvious, but otherwise I had to look pretty hard to see it. The ped didn't even see it when I took her diaper in... but he did the little test and it came back as positive for blood. caedmyn 06-15-2008, 04:37 PM DD had very small amounts of bright red blood off and on from 3-8 months of age...like a few drops or a thin thread or two. It was fairly frequent, ranging from maybe 1-3 times a day to a few times a week when I was eating dairy, and then maybe once a week or once every other week when I stopped eating dairy. kjbrown92 06-15-2008, 06:34 PM I only saw it once and it was about 5 days after DD going on Amoxicillan. On Day 3, she started vomiting and got a rash all over her and the ped. switched her to another abx. I'm pretty sure that the blood was from the amoxicillan, along with the other reactions. She had a sinus and ear infection and raging fever. It was the little red strings like the other poster mentioned. Luckily that was the only time I saw it. On a humorous note though... once she ate a plastic/rubber little frog of my older daughters and it ended up whole in her diaper. Scared me half to death when I looked in THAT diaper. |
