HCG levels after m/c

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to go back down after a m/c or D and C? I am getting carzy signals from my body... could be new pregnancy, could be from previous m/c about a month ago, or could be my moon on her way. Any insight would be appreciated. I don't want to take a pg. test if levels might still be up from previous experience... uhg. Thanks. :)

I have been doing a bit of research on this topic this week, and from what I have read your HCG goes down at a similar level to it going up, about every 48 hours it should halve. So for example, on Wednesday My HCG was 4000 and by the next monday it was 1000 and by this monday it should be around 125. I am hoping by the end of the month it should be negative for me. I have read it should be zero anywhere from a week to 5 weeks after miscarriage.

I monitored it with hpts after my first m/c and I think it took a little over a week to get a negative test.

I was told that it would drop very rapidly once everything was expelled. Our dr said that he wanted to see it 0 by the second week. I never went in for any testing, but I took a hpt at 3 weeks, and it was negative. That was about a week after all bleeding had ceased.

It should go down fast after a miscarriage and even faster after a d+c because all products of concepts should have been remove. Unfortunately for some the levels don't go down to zero and really need to be monitored reasons vary, One being not all products have been expelled another more serious is that sometimes things go haywire and tumors form keeping the hcg level going.

Well I guess from what I read from people here it should go down quicky but on 6/6 my HCG levels where only in the low 100's and I am still getting +HPT. My chart is even showing that I ovulated even with the HCG in my system. So sometimes I guess it doesn't go down that quick.

I'm going to be the one to have the odd different point of view here, but I had a D&C May 13th and got a positive pregnancy test June 26th. It was faint, but def there, on two tests. AF came a few days later. I was on birth control (the nuva ring) after my d&c so I don't think it was a chemical pregnancy.
