How is everyone feeling about DTD now? I know that it is fine to DTD, but it still makes me nervous that we might "shake something loose"! I did feel some crampy feelings after, and worried, but everything seems fine today. Ah, worrying, it is so easy.

We haven't stopped, although maybe it hasn't been quite as often. Sometimes I kind of want him to hurry up, because I feel the less time we spend, the smaller chance of something happening.
We just try to keep things a little, um, shallower, and truth be told, it has been quite good for me :)

i dont understand this concern. sex does not harm a fetus.

I would be fine with it except that I have no desire whatsoever.

We would be if DH hadn't hurt his back last week. I have no problem with it as far as the baby is concerned. It doesn't hurt the baby one bit. And it's normal to have cramps afterward. You can't cause a m/c with sex. ;)

we haven't had any changes, although I can tell my sex drive is getting a little stronger. with my others I would get crampy in the last trimester, but nothing bad.

You're correct. Sex does not harm a fetus, but I have heard of many people having spotting after sex during the first trimester, and as a result doctors sometimes put them on pelvic rest. We are careful because we want to avoid this.

We're still doing it. I'm not worried about anything, but I just don't *like* doing it right now. I'm hardly ever in the mood.

Jumping in from August DDC:
Sex doesn't hurt the baby and you don't have to worry about shaking something loose. :wink Take it from someone who is 8 months along and DTD regularly. It's actually quite good for you as long as your comfortable. Enjoy it before you get limited in positions. LOL

Ditto. :(
Hopefully that will change soon, though. We're getting married next week and I'd love to have a romantic nite together....

My sex drive drive is through the roof right now!! It's insane!
Anyway, when we dtd even though it's not supposed to hurt anything I do still feel a little nervous. But, I feel a little nervous about everything lately.

Some women spot after cervical exams, yet doctors don't say "Oh, we better not do one on you again!" :lol
Spotting after sex is typically from irritating the cervix. The cervix is sensitive during pregnancy, and sex, a cervical exam, and numerous other things (sometimes even just exercise!) can cause it to spot a bit, but it does not at all endanger the baby.

I've had trouble staying awake for any amount of time once DS goes to bed for the night, so that's the only reason we've been slipping in quantity.

I had some spotting in my first pg after dtd and it freaked me out so much, we had no more sex until the 2nd tri, and I haven't had sex yet this pg (since finding out I was pg). I know sex can't harm the babe, but the spotting caused so much anxiety, I'd rather just cross my legs for a few more weeks (sorry hubby...).

pg sex is the most enjoyable to me. I feel so much more and I like it a lot. Could be hormones or the extra blood flow, but we have been having a lot of fun lately.

I am still enjoying sex. IN fact one of the first signs that I thought I might be pregnant, was that after ovulation my sex drive never went away, it just stayed right there at O levels.

After 3 miscarriages I am just too nervous to do anything that might cause spotting. I know that it won't change anything but I just can't do it yet.

Add me to the list of "not in the mood". :) I just feel so yucky and exhausted lately it's the last thing on my mind. Poor DH. And me too! Sex should be fun- hopefully we'll be back at it soon :wink.

Not in the mood, and it's uncomfortable. We have a fantastic sex life normally, but when I'm pregnant, it just sucks for me. I can hardly find a comfortable position where it doesn't feel like dh is hitting my cervix. I'm hoping that will change soon though!

Feh, I would be fine with it if I didn't have a yeast infection. As it is no DTD here because of that. But no worries over it jostling the bean. Afterall, s/he is the size of a sesame seed right now. It's not going to do any more damage than running around after a toddler all day. :)

That explains it! I had spotting after a short run on the treadmill two weeks ago, and again yesterday after DTD. I'm going to try to stop freaking out over everything...

Is it possible to rape one's huz in the state of Florida? If so, how do I go about it? :wink

:yeah:
I know the feeling. We're also waiting for me to finish taking the prometrium suppositories in August. They're kind of gross, and I don't want to risk any of it being pushed out or my poor DH getting dosed up with progesterone. :)
We miss it, but we are finding other ways to "play." :blush :mischief

I love sex during pregnancy and I have so much more sex drive.
When I had my m/c 3 years ago, I was spotting every time we had sex. I think it's a sign of what is already true, not a cause of it.
You get those crampy feelings because when you orgasm, your uterus always contracts a little. And when your uterus is bigger, you feel it happening. As long as it stops after a little while it's perfectly fine.

With a 1.5yo and a 2.5yo all day, I didn't feel like having any more sex way before I got pregnant!!!:p
But here I am again, so I must have some once in a while!

Well I'm still not, since we discovered that subchorionic hematoma soon after I posted last time in this thread. And they put me on pelvic rest. But last scan the clot seemed to be gone, so I'm not sure if that means we've got the green light or not. Am waiting to talk to my m/w just in case.
