(sorry if this is the wrong board to post on)

We just got a new second car and want to get a new carseat. DS will be 3 in a couple of weeks and is a little on the small side for his age. He's currently in a Britax Marathon and DD is 5 mos. and in a Graco infant seat. I originally wanted another Marathon for when DD outgrows the GRaco but now I'm thinking I should get a Frontier or Regent for DS since they go up to 80 lbs. And one of them turns into a booster (I think). However, it will be going into a Scion XB and right now I like that I can squeeze in between the kids in the backseat for when DD is fussing and we're on a trip. I'm afraid if we get a much bigger seat I won't be able to fit in between the seats. ANy advice?

The Frontier turns into a booster. If you're worried about backseat space I would skip the Regent (though I have one and love it). What about the Graco Nautilus? Goes up to 65lbs (but has a high harness height) then turns into a booster. It's not as wide as the Regent but I don't know how it compares to the Frontier.

We're in the same page. We're decided go for the Regent. DD seat in there in the store, and She was fine, and looks very comfy.:thumb

Yeah, there is no way you can fit in the back with a Regent, it is a very big seat. We have a couple and love them, but they are not a small seat! I'd see if you can take a look in person at the Nautilus or the Frontier and see which one you prefer.

Wanted to chime in about the Frontier, Great seat it also turns into a booster, it can harness til 80lbs. I just moved my 4yr old from a cheap evenflo to the Frontier to keep her in a harness longer.
