I just had my third m/c in July. I was supplementing with progesterone during that pregnancy, but too late, or it was irrelevant, at any rate I showed a 4 week sac at my 8 wk us and m/c three days later.
My midwife is advising me to seek specialty care and further testing, but so far we are unsuccessful in finding anyone specializing in recurrent loss who accepts my insurance; I'm on medicaid. The advice I'm getting from the midwives I ask and also my insurance is to start seeking care at one of the clinics at a larger teaching hospital (UIC, Rush etc.) and then I will get connected with specialty care that way. I am so intimidated by having to deal with new receptionists, nurses and doctors until I (hopefully) filter through to the care I need. I just feel so vulnerable and raw right now and afraid of the insensitivity that some people, even people who specialize in pregnancy, can have toward a woman who has miscarried.
Do any of you have a specific dr to recommend in the Chicago area? Please help.
