I thought with as many new faces as we had at coffee tonight - we should do an intro thread (stole this idea from the toledo moms)

Ill start:

Im Michelle, mamma to 2 girls, Violet 4/14/06 and Ophelia 5/28/08/. I work full time as a middle school teacher (special ed) and go to Wayne State and am finishing my masters.

I have a great geeky husband who works as a full time IT guy.

We live downriver in a little house with 2 pugs, a cat, and some fish :)

Im not super crunchy but I am for sure not soggy. :joy:

Im always looking for new friends.. once we had kids - life changed and its hard finding folks that "get it" and dont think Im weird because our kids are our true hearts.

Hi, I'm Jen. :wave (I had the three kids at coffee night) I've been married to Clay for going on 8 years now. I'm an apprenticing homebirth midwife. He sells GM cars and doesn't want to know the first thing about birth or any other *gross* stuff like that...lol He takes to crunchiness like a vampire to garlic but we manage to get along. :wink

We live in Oakland County with our Jack Russel (Jackie), two Chihuahuas (Paco and Pita), a bunch of lizzards, fish and toads....anything the kids pick up from the grass really. :)

I work full time in Madison Heights and also homeschool the kids. They have their own office/school room next to mine. I'm always out and about and ready for a morning playdate or an afternoon lunch date. :thumb

We live in Ortonville (just N. of Lake Orion).

We are actively TTC our second child and I'm currently trying to educate my husband about the benefits of a non-hospitalized VBAC in the future! :)

Looking for new friends for the grown ups AND kids in our house!

Hello Hello everyone! I hope more join in but it's nice to see a good start to roll call, LOL!

I'm Heather. I have a 2 and a half year old Caden. I've been married to Jason for 6 years now. I work (mostly) at home as a resident director (dorm mom). I seriously LOVE my job. I'm pregnant with #2 and am due around Thanksgiving (day depends on who you ask). I'm 27. My crunchiness is an evolution in progress.

Rebecca, I'm in Rochester too. If you ever want to get together at the Municipal Park for a play date, let me know. I'm going to be absurdly busy the next couple weeks, but I might be able to squeeze in something if you're interested. And where do you get your raw milk from?

courtenay_e
08-01-2008, 02:18 PM
Okay, I'll play!

I am Courtenay. I am 32 (gosh, really? I don't feel 32! I feel more like 19 or 20...). I am married to David, the other half of my heart. I am a wife, a mom, a doula, a childbirth educator, and am learning to be a midwife. :) Dave works in the auto industry. Poor guy. I mean, at least he has a job, but it sure is stressful these days!

In my spare time (spare time? What's THAT?), I love to garden, practice yoga, sew, read, swim, bike...

We have two beautiful, smart, sassy kids. Our daughter is 6.5 and our son is going to be five in September. We homeschool, and are gearing up for our first uber serious year with dd...

We have two cats and a beta fish, and though we aren't HUGE dog fans, I am seriously considering finding a mature, sweet, extremely well trained large dog to bring into our family, so that when dh is gone on long business trips I can feel more secure! Dh would cry if he knew how completely serious I was about that!

We live out in Clarkston, by the way. Chickety China, welcome to the area! Check out the Rochester LLL group. They have a great active group of mamas with kids your youngest's age, I think, in spades!

Hi, I am Heather. Married to Rob, and mom to Z, 14mo - :joy:. Our house has a sweet cat with a dumb name, and some fish.

I am a nurse and also massage therapist, with a wish to be independently wealthy.

Love, love, love the babywearing!

We are in Shelby Twp/ Rochester area. We like playdates!

Shanana
08-01-2008, 04:16 PM
Well, I didn't make the coffee night, but I'll play anyway since I make it to maybe half of them :lol.

I'm Shana (pronounced Shauna, thank you mom and dad :rolleyes). I have two daughters: Maddie (7/30/05 - she turned three this week!) and Sophie (5/1/08). I'm a mechanical engineer turned SAHM. I am also an aspiring photographer and may start my own photography business (specializing in maternity, babies, children) when I am not so busy with a new baby (you can see some of my pictures here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/gearheadmama), although the first few are of me and not by me :lol). I also entertain the idea of homeschooling / unschooling, although I'm not sure I have the constitution for being around my kids 24/7 for the next 18 years. I've been married to Rich (also an engineer) for 10 years (!) and will turn 37 in December. I live in western-ish Oakland County. Oh, and I have 3 kitties, 2 of whom just turned a year old (brothers) and are absolutely always into everything! I am constantly digging my toddler's toys out of their water dish.

If I had spare time, I would read, do yoga, mountain bike, write, and spend more time taking pictures and learning more about Photoshop.

ETA: Sophie was a homebirth with Stacia, except I didn't call her in time to make it :o (I love to tease her, but I accept full responsibility :wink), thus the unplanned UC (link to story in siggy).

I didn't make it to the coffee night, but I'm Stephanie in Davison. I have one 2 year old and one on the way in November. I'm a SAHM, but I used to be a HS teacher and I loved my work. In my spare time, I like to ride my horse.

Fay

:wave

I'm Fay, 36 year old SAHM to 2 boys ages 7 & 1. DS1 is autistic, and DS2 has feeding issues related to acid reflux. I never make it to coffee night, because evenings are impossible for me...even though we're near the Northville Barnes & Noble where the MDC mamas sometimes get together! I've been married to my engineer DH since 1993. I'm not the crunchiest or greenest mama you'll meet, but I am a hopeless raw milk junkie, a die-hard babywearer, I love breastfeeding & co-sleeping, and nurturing attachment though play therapy is the cornerstone of our family life.

I'm interested in starting a lunchtime support group for mamas of kids with special needs. I love finding out about therapies that others are pursuing and sharing contact info for the best therapists, school districts, summer camps, medical specialists, whatever our kids need. I'm always happy to share info that has helped DS1, we've worked with some outstanding professionals and DS1 has come a long way!

I'm also interested in starting up an informal Mommy & Me type playgroup this fall, maybe on a weekday morning, for my very social & active toddler. I'm thinking we could read a story as a group, sing a few songs, do a very simple art project and socialize once a week.

I'm a writer mama, too, I love to write short essays and poems about my experiences as a mother. I'm looking for a faithful correspondent who would be interested in exchanging journals for a few months...the journal swaps on MDC have NOT been successful.

PM me if you want to work with me on any of these projects!

I only make it to coffee nights once in a while, but I'll give my brief life story anyway : )

I'm Christa, hubby's name is Mike, and we have 3 kids. We have 2 dd's, 8 and 2 years old, and a ds, 5 years old. The 2 oldest are going to be in school in the fall and while I'll miss them dearly, I'm also looking forward to some alone time with my little one.

I'm a birth doula and I have been a midwife apprentice for a little over 2 years. I've got the coolest preceptor I know. I thought my apprenticeship was going to be on the 10 year plan, but it looks like it might be closer to 7 :lol I'm also partners with my BFF in a doula and midwifery practice. I feel like I've got the best of both worlds, and love the midwives I work with.

In my spare time I like to sleep, hang with friends, play with the kids, and dream about having date nights with dh. On the rare chance I'm off call, I love to go out of town.

I'm Jennifer, 34, wife to Nate and mama to two crazy little boys, 3 years old and 1 year old. We live in Dearborn.

The only MDC coffee night I've ever been able to make it to was one that we had for the downriver mamas last summer. It's a very rare occasion to see me out at night without my boys, but it could happen... :lol

I'm a vegetarian who just went vegan last winter. I am trying to start up a vegetarian mamas group, if anyone is interested: http://vegmomsofmi.org/forum

We would love some daytime playdates on this side of town!

I'm a SAHM, I give horse back riding lessons a couple hours a week though. I do alot of volunteer work, and also love music, gardening, nature, and cooking. We have one dog and two cats.

Hi! I'm not much of a coffee night go-er 'cause of schedules not really working for us, but I'm around :wave. I'm Katherine (SAHM), married to Dan (for five years); we have one daughter (18 mo), and we're expecting babe #2 in February. I'm planning a homebirth with Stacia and Christa :love We live near the zoo and love getting together during the day for park playdates, etc :)

Hello - I haven't been to anything yet, as we are still in the Toledo area, but next month (or this month) we'll be moving to Hamtramck, MI near Detroit. I am married to my wonderful husband, Chris (almost 4 years) and we have 2 children. Samuel is 2 & Addison is 6 1/2 months. We do what we can - babywear, breastfeed, some organic, started recycling, cloth diaper, heading toward plastic-free, etc. Hope to meet some of you guys in the near future!

Hi!! I am Angela. I am 32 years old. I have 3 children, Caleb is 5, Adela is 3, and Autumn Rose is nearly 5 months. I am divorced from Caleb's and Adela's dad. Autumn's dad is my boyfriend Mike...and he is now really dad to all three of my children. He will be adopting my first two once we are married for over a year. He is such a great guy!!

I was a teacher for 9 years, and am now trying to become a nurse.

I am getting crunchier and crunchier every day...but was completely uncrunchy as recently as 5 months ago. How quickly things change. I now babywear, use cloth diapers, trying to AP (I am a work in progress), and much more to come.

I live in Troy, and am also available for playdates most anytime.

I did not make it to the last coffee night but hope to sometime in the future!!

Angela

Hi! I'm Elizabeth, and I've been married to Jeff for just over a year. We're both 24. I'm an insurance underwriter and he's an electrical engineer. We just found out that we're expecting our first. We also have three dogs.

We plan to have a homebirth (with Stacia), cloth diaper, cosleep, breastfeed, etc., which is why I made my way to this website.

We live in AA, so we're looking to meet people in this area.

I'm Shelley. I'm married to Erik and he is a carpenter. We have one daughter who is 2 1/2 and are expecting a new baby around Thanksgiving. I'm having a homebirth.

I am currently a part time student working towards applying to nursing school for the fall of 2010 and then hopefully straight on to my masters in nurse midwifery. I also work very part time at a veterinary hospital because I love animals.

Oh and Courtenay, I think you should look into getting a rescued greyhound. I have a greyhound and a cat and my cat is much much more work than my very laid back dog.

hey! i finally made it out to a coffee night after months and months of not being able to. i'm chelsea, i'm 23 and recently single after living pretty much as roommates with dd's dad...who is a great dad, we just didnt make eachother happy. my daughter is grace, she just turned one. grace was born at home (also with stacia!), but you can see my sig for those details. im currently staying at my mother's house in dearborn and i will be moving to canton the end of august. i used to nanny for michelle renee. i work full time now at whole foods in ann arbor as a cashier, and hope to transfer to the new store and get into something different. eventually, i'd like to go to school for nursing. i enjoy art and photography and i am constantly uploading pictures to flickr, though most of them are just of funny faces or other random things. i have an etsy shop where i sell vintage clothing and handmade things, please check it out - nashifeet.etsy.com.

i feel like i never have time for anything, and i would love to get together with everyone more often (am i dreaming?). i think we should plan a livonia coffee night again soon, and/or possibly an ann arbor one. monday nights are always good for me because it is the only time i KNOW im off work.

;) I was thinking about that yesterday, actually!...but aren't greyhounds mute, or am I making that up?

Greyhounds aren't mute but they just don't bark much. My dog is not a good guard dog in that he'd never do anything to an intruder. But I don't think that most dogs will unless you spend LOTS of time doing specific training for that. My dog is a guard dog in that he is a big dog that barks at strangers at the door. But he doesn't bark at every passerbye or noise he hears. That's a good thing in my book. :wink When he does bark, it's actually pretty intimidating. The rescue required us to read Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies and it had lots of good info.

Feel free to pm me if you want the info for the rescue group we went through. They were awesome.

OK back on topic, I just had to do my greyhound plug!

Hey Shelley, congratulations on your new little bean!

I'm Stacia, married to my fantastic but shy architect husband, living in an extreme fixer-upper in Ann Arbor. I have two boys, 4 and 8. I haven't been to coffee night in ages because I've been working two nights a week and seem not to want to get my butt off the couch when I'm not working! I am lucky enough to be a midwife and doula and get to attend lots of great births!

I love to garden and make the most of my shady city lot. I also love to be outdoors and go camping and backpacking, though being on call makes that hard. My boys and I slept in the yard in our tent the last two nights! I'm trying to find campgrounds within an hour of Ann Arbor that have good cell phone reception too:p

I run a 'zine about childbirth and parenting in my free time and also like to hang out with my friends when I can.

Nice to see everybody! Even the people who haven't had a baby with me:wink

I'm a SAHM, I give horse back riding lessons a couple hours a week though. Hi to another equestrian! I have a 6 year old bay TWH and hubby has (we're hoping he's sold) a 13 year old tobiano TWH. We used to do quite a bit of trailriding and camping and some showing, but no time now, and that's why the gelding is for sale. I might sell my mare, but GAH the market is terrible. Hubby's horse is in Fenton, and mine is here in Davison.

I work 4 days a week at an office job. I love to get together in the evenings or on Thursdays.

Hi everyone, I'm another Chelsea (duh - could you tell by my super original screen name?):p

Married almost 4 years to my awesome DH who has slowly but graciously embraced the AP lifestyle - both our kids were born peacefully at home (Rosie just turned 3 and Sammy is almost 13 months), we practice extended bf, drink raw milk and strive to eat mostly local/organic foods (lots from our own garden), we don't vaccinate, we are slowly phasing out plastic toys, we love co-sleeping, babywearing, cloth diapering and I am proud to say our boy is intact :thumb (that was a tough one to convince DH about).

I teach yoga and like to be crafty in my (little) spare time and I also have an etsy store (seagreendesigns.etsy.com) and a lame blog (link in sig) that I use mainly to post photos of the kids for my extended relatives.

I love coffee nights and playdates - It is nice to hang out with like minded mamas who don't look at you like you have 2 heads when you whip out your boob in the middle of a conversation to feed a hungry toddler. :D

It was great to see so many people at our last HUGE coffee night...
when's the next one???

Agreed!

Hi. I am Teri, with 19 month old son Orin, and husband Paul (dated/married for 15+ years. Yikes!). I love mama's night out. So, much fun - even if I do get a little loopy on Caribou's sugary berry drinks. We live in Bloomfield with our very shy Cavalier dog, Simba.

If anyone is interested in joining us at the zoo this Friday, pm me.

Or if you are in the neighborhood, stop by! We have a ton of toys, thanks to Craigslist, mom to mom sales and online shopping! :joy:

Hi I'm Amanda I'll be 30 next month (yikes). I've been married to Charley almost 6yrs and together 11. We live in Ferndale with our two sons Liam (3) and Brody (9 months) and our crazy beagle Belle. DH has taken well to all this AP, Co-Sleeping, Cloth Diapering extremely well and I love him for that.

I have known Vanessa you could say most of my life not only is she a great friend but a wonderful mother. I'm new to the coffee nights but love getting together, and I'm always up for a playdate!!:p

I'm Jenny, 23.

Mommy to Madeleine. 3/15/08. She's the most amazing little girl ever. I'm sure everyone thinks that about their babies, but it's true, she's amazing.

My bf, Kris, works at McLane Food Service Dist. in Plymouth and at the airport as a PSA. He's hoping to find something better soon. Not having much luck unfortunately.

We live in Westland with our crazy miniature dachshund, Matilda, and a bunch of fish.

I'm currently doing odd babysitting jobs and looking for a nanny job that I can bring my daughter to...unfortunately not having a lot of luck with that either. I am working on becoming an independent certified instructor with Baby Signs. In the future I'd like to look into possibly becoming a post-partum doula. And I'd also really like to move out of Michigan (maybe to the Chicago area or the Boston area?) and open up a children's book store/natural toy store.

Interests? Musicals, reading (as if I EVER find time to read a book anymore), and spending time with my family.

I never thought I'd get so into all this "natural stuff" before I got pregnant, but now I feel like such a source of support and information for my other friends with children when it comes to breastfeeding, vaccinations, babywearing, natural toy websites, etc. On the flipside though, I feel much more disconnected from some of my friends who are much more "mainstream" now.

PM me if anyone is ever interested in getting together...always looking for playdates and fun stuff to take Madeleine to!

I'll play, even though I haven't yet been able to make a coffee night. I'd love to--it's just so far for me. One of these days....

I'm Sarah and I live in Plymouth with my husband, my sweet little DD Charlotte (23 months) and two wild and crazy Jack Russells, Jack and Bella.

I'd love to meet some other mamas in my area. Anybody else in the Plymouth/Canton/Northville area? We are always up for playdates!

I work full time, but am fortunate to have a job where I am able to work from home a couple of days a week. DH works for a nonprofit in Ann Arbor. We used to live there when we were in grad school and if the housing market ever improves, we would like to move back.

My interests include reading, cooking, dogs, spending time with my family, when I have time I do some needlework. I used to dabble in soap-making and other natural body care stuff but I haven't done much of that since DD. DH got me a wonderful sewing machine for Christmas but I have yet to crack it open, though I'd absolutely love to learn how to sew. Hopefully this winter!

We have always been pretty careful about what we eat, we are former vegetarians (now we are omnivores again), buy as much organic as possible, limit junk food, etc. We try to live as low impact as possible. Charlotte still nurses and we co-sleep. I tried to leave her in her room last night by herself but I missed her so much I went in and slept in her bed with her!

Anyone else here on Facebook? It's my new online "addiction", just joined a couple of weeks ago at my sister's urging. Way too much fun, as if I needed another way to waste time online besides MDC! :wink

hey sarah, i used to live and work in downtown plymouth up until a few months ago. i worked at the plymouth coffee bean and when i got pregnant with dd, i left and got a job at starbucks, so ive probably seen you around! sometimes we plan a livonia moms coffee night, i think we have one set for the 25th if you can make it! its a small but cozy group, and you could bring charlotte, ill have grace with me - she just turned 1. i have facebook - do you search by email on there? i dont remember! i also got a sewing machine from my ex's mother for christmas and ive never used it either! i keep telling myself every day that this will be the day i get it out, but seriously?! sewing machine + toddler? HAHAHA. yesterday, she was walking around with a hat i had started to crochet and the crochet needle, all proud of herself. :) i really want to learn to make soap, i was actually looking some things up the other day. we try and eat really well too, at least when dd is with me. i work at whole foods in ann arbor, so the discount helps a little :)

i hope to meet you soon, i think we would have a lot in common and i could always use some more mama friends, i dont have too many, and dd's dad still lives in plymouth so i'm out that way fairly often, especially on mondays because that's when i pick her up from her weekend at his house.

hope to see you at coffee too!

Hi!

I am Kelly (31), married 6 years to Dave. We live in Canton. We have a son, David who is 3.5 born via csection (he was breech) at 36w. Since then, I have educated myself here at Mothering and other places. We had DD, Rachel on 12/20-7 via a hospital VBAC with the St. Joe Nurse Midwives. It was awesome!! I hope I can talk DH into another baby and a possible birth center or homebirth.

I recently started knitting (mostly longies for the fall/winter) and I love to read. We like to camp (Stacia - We camp at the Waterloo recreational campgroup at Big Portage Lake, it is great, gets cell reception and is only 1/2 hour from AA). I also garden and I can see my tomatos turning oranger from the window right now, can't wait to see them red and juicy!

anyway, I hope to start making it to coffee night but DD only wants me to put her to bed and she turns into a pumpkin if she is awake past 7:30. So, we will have to see about that.

It has been great to read about everyone!

Hi everyone!

I'm Jackie (as you can see from my sooo original s/n, lol!) I'm 32, married to Dave for 12 years. We have four kids, a 12 yo DS (he has aspergers), 9 yo DD, 4 yo DS, & an almost 3 yo DS. We currently live in Garden City, we've been wanting to move out of the area for a while now, plus, we need a bigger home, so we can plan on TTC #5!

We love camping too, & go to waterloo (sugar loaf lake) quite a bit. My DH is a water sports nut, but I rather just peacefully float on a raft or go fishing! :wink

Just wanted to say "Hi!" :wave

Hey jackie!

I've been thinking about camping at Sugar Loaf because it is close enough to Ann Arbor that I can still be on call. Tell me more about it! You wouldn't happen to know if you can get a cell phone signal out there, would you?

I would love to hear about any more metro Detroit camping too. My kids are going out of town without me this weekend because I'm waiting on a baby.

I used to dabble in soap-making and other natural body care stuff but I haven't done much of that since DD.

I so want to get into soap making! If you have time and would like an apprentice ;) let me know! I'd love to learn how!!

Sure thing, that would be fun!:D I'll let you know if I ever find my supplies behind the massive pile of outgrown baby gear in my basement, lol! (I actually did go through my soap-making supplies shortly before I had DD and I had to throw away so much, it was all expired or dried up, it was so sad...I don't even want to think about how many hundreds of dollars worth of essential oils I had to toss. Now with a toddler around I'm afraid to even attempt anything, the lye part is so scary.)

Last time we went to Sugar loaf, I didn't use my cell, but my niece couldn't get a signal on my Mom's phone....& she walked all over trying! (she's a teen, lol!)

I did get a signal up at Pontiac Lake campgrounds, but, that might be too far from Ann Arbor?

Bummer, man! We camped a few weeks ago at the horse camp up by Hadley and had reception, though it's like an hour drive to A2.

(I'm frog. turtle and I have no kids, a passel of cats and we live in Ypsi. We're big campers--were up in Caseville at Sleeper a few weeks back, heading for Hueston Woods in Ohio in a few weeks.)

I'm Michelle, wife to Ray, mama to Anthony(12/2005) and Bryant(01/2008). Stepmama to Amber(12/94). I work outside the home, not by choice though. We have a bearded dragon, 3 leopard geckos and a tankful of goldfish. I am a self proclaimed lactivist--planning on becoming a lactation consultant. We cloth diaper with me sewing the dipes. We are very AP--extended/tandem nursing, child led weaning, no circing, cosleeping, etc....

Hey -- what are leopard geckos like? We have 2 crested geckos and a couple of eggs that should hatch next week.

Hi there.

OK ok, so better late than not at all, right? LOL

I am Leah. Proud Mommy of those strange little creatures I affectionately refer to as Thing 1 (Ollie -3.5) and Thing 2 (Noah Lilly- 1.5).

My husband, Joel, and I have been married since '02 and live in West Bloomfield with our kids, two cats and one used-to-be-real-fluffy-until-we-got-her-shaved-for-the-summer dog.

We also homeschool/ unschool our little ones and are looking forward to doing so until they can convince us that they'ed be better off otherwise. LOL

I'd love to get together with other AP moms/dads and kids for playdates anytime some of you might be available. Our schedule is pretty wide open.

(We also stopped by the new Whole Foods in Rochester last Thursday and it is a pretty cool experience. It's almost an exact copy of Wegman's -for those who know what that is-except they're not open 24/7.)

“It is possible to have an ecstatic birth-in fact, that is the best natural high that I know of. And these states of consciousness are best reached when a woman is fully aware and fully awake. Women don’t have a way to know their body works until they really try it out in birth. I think that women can be completely surprised by the change in them from giving birth-you have something powerful in you-that fierce thing comes up-and I think babies need moms to have that fierceness-you feel like you can do anything.”

Wow this thread got away from me. I meant to post a long time ago and wow, now look at all the posts!

I've met several of you in some way or another, but since I have yet to make it to a coffee night I am sure I've missed out on some good times :wink I still plan on making one someday soon, especially now that dh works days and is home to watch the girls. And dd2 is getting old enough to tolerate mommy leaving for an MNO :thumb

Newly married to best friend Brian :joy: tied the knot on Earth Day '08. :treehugger: Been a couple since '04. We own a home and raise the girls over east in Mount Clemens. I'm a SAHM who often crafts things for random cash here and there (mostly for fun and as favors) and my siggy pretty much says the rest.

Hope to see/meet some more of you soon :D

Hello. My name is Meghan. I have been married to my wonderful DH, Scott, for 4 years. We just had our first, Audrey; she is 5 months old. I haven't made it to a coffee night yet, but am planning on it. I can't this week because I will be in Denver.

I would like to meet other mothers with little ones in the Royal Oak/Troy area. Many of my close friends live far enough away that it is hard to get together. I have a great network of neighbors, but they don't share the same views that I do. They couldn't understand why I wan't a natural birth or why I'm not feeding cereal yet.

I look forward to being able to make it to the next coffee night.

Hi! I'm Suzy, and I have a two-month old little girl named Amelia. I live in Royal Oak with my husband and two long-haired kitties. I work part-time as a reference librarian(just returned to work last week - it's getting easier to leave her, but I don't know if I'll ever stop feeling torn about it), and I've been learning to play banjo for the past year or so (though I've gotten barely any practice time in since the advent of the wee one). Otherwise, I like to knit, I dabble in sewing when I have the time, and I love travel when we can spare the funds. DP and I went to Burning Man for the first time last year, and are trying to figure out how to bring Amelia next year.

Lets see, on the MDC checklist, we cloth diaper, ebf so far (pumped milk when i'm at work), had a drug-free birth, and try to babywear though it's not always successful.

Yes :D

I'm Jacque (like you couldn't guess)

Two kids one teen and one tween, I don't use their names online.

Have lived in the Detroit area all my life.

I first started reading Mothering in 1993 when I was given a reprint of a Mothering article after my daughter was stillborn. It was by Marion Cohen called This is what I do for Karin. It spoke directly to me and I've been a Mothering addict since.

:wave I've been on MDC for a while (since sometime in 05) but never made it to a coffee night. Actually haven't been on here in a while either. I am Jen, we are in wayne county - on the oakland border. Dh and I have been married since 02 but we've been together since 92. We have one son who is now 3 :love. He was born at the Providence ABC. We also have 2 big hairy doggies and some fish.
