The Coalition for Illinois Midwifery
presents its 2nd annual
Illinois Home Birth Family Picnic
Labor Day Weekend, Sat., Aug. 30, 2008, 11am - 5pm

HERE WE GO!
Illinois Midwifery legislation has made it through the senate, and negotiations with the Illinois nursing groups in the house. Now we near the home stretch, and you can help us celebrate this Labor Day weekend! I hope that each and every one of you will attend the Coalition for Illinois Midwifery's 2nd annual home birth family picnic in Channahon, Illinois on Saturday, August 30, 2008 11am - 5pm (organized activities end at 5pm, park open until dusk).

Meg Volk, home birth mother and member of the Coalition's fundraising committee, has been working hard to put together a fun-filled afternoon with lots of interesting raffle prizes and silent auction items,. So join us for fun family activities and a day in the park, all to raise money to support licensure for certified professional midwives in Illinois.
PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD! Tell all your friends who support home birth. Forward this email to relevant lists and post this info. on message boards to help us get the word out. If you'd like a flier to distribute, please email me for a pdf.
DIRECTIONS Plan now to come out to Channahon Park, at Walnut Pavilion (near where I-55 meets I-80), near the I&M Canal.
From the North -- Exit off I-55 just South of I-80 at "Rte. 6, Joliet, Morris." Tturn left (Northeast) onto Rte. 6. Proceed approx. 2 miles to McClintock Rd., and turn left onto McClintock. Look for the Homebirth Picnic signs or Walnut Pavilion.
From the South -- Exit off I-55 at "Rte. 6, Morris, Joliet." Turn right (Northeast) onto Rte. 6. Proceed approx. 2 miles to McClintock Rd., and turn left onto McClintock. Look for the Homebirth Picnic signs or Walnut Pavilion.
