Maybe its worth a try, but don't you think they (Jennifer, Brad, Danny, etc) are being a little naive about this.

Bill Clinton failed, Tony Blair drew a blank and Kofi Annan made little progress. But now a team of Hollywood film stars is about to visit the Middle East on a private peace mission, in the belief that their charms will work magic on the Israeli-Arab conflict.

In a region suffering from peace initiative fatigue, however, Israelis and Palestinians have greeted news of the Hollywood initiative with bemusement and incredulity.

For some, the prospect of DeVito sitting down to talk peace with Hamas militants over a cup of sweet tea, or Pitt breaking bread at a sabbath dinner with hardline Jewish settlers, is preposterous.

I'll try to stay optimistic about this.

I don't see that it is anymore helpful/harmful than "ordinary" people going. BUT, if they have the $$$ to do it (and get computers up, whatever) then more power to them. I honestly don't see where it could go anywhere, though.

:LOL

"Bemusement and incredulity" do sound like the appropriate adjectives.

I suppose, though, that this isn't a whole lot different than, say, doctors thinking that, because of their elevated social status, their political and social pronouncements should be given correspondingly high weight. Frist and Dean are hardly pioneers in the political realm in this country. And why on earth should doctors automatically be accorded increased respect with respect to political or social matters? In most cases, there's no reason whatsoever for this. Likewise, famous actors.
