So we are coming to the Springs for vacation next week and I was just wondering if there are any good places for an almost 1 and almost 4 year old to play. Of course there are many places for a 4 year old but we also want to do something that we can let the 1 year old get down and play too, she's walking and in that put me down all the time so I can explore stage. Thanks!
My DD has always been the same way for wanting to get down and walk. Focus on the Family (regardless of whether one agrees or not with their religious or political inclinations) has a PHENOMENAL play area. There is also the zoo, lots and lots of parks (Fox Run up in Monument <2110 Stella Drive> is a favorite) - it has a pond and stream and large grassy/play area) and places like Little Bigg Town if the weather is bad.
Here is a link to local parks: http://www.springsgov.com/Page.asp?NavID=788
And a couple of event pages: http://www.springsgov.com/units/parksrec/listpool.htm

For other places that are not so kid friendly, I recommend the little animal harnesses that Wal-Mart sells. They're $10 bucks and super cute. I know a lot of people are against them, but can say that my daughter practically begs to wear hers and it keeps her safe while giving her some range to walk and explore. She even wears it around the house sometimes. Actually really cute.
Hope you have a good time!

Poor Richards Restaurant downtown has a children's area in the back. You can eat pizza and let 'em play in the "castle".
The downtown library also has a really cool kiddie area too.
Acacia park dowtown has a play-in fountain, and also America the Beautiful Park too.
I second Whit's End at Focus on the Family... we are not Christian, but do think it is an awesome place for kids to romp around and play. Plus it is free!
That is way up north though.
Have Fun!
Sadly there is no children's museum.

I would say you might want to check out Santa's Workshop at the base of Pikes peak. It has tons of small rides for the 4 year old and baby like cute little raindeer and other things like that all christmas themed and the kids can "meet" Santa. A little bit more touristy but I always liked it!
