Does anyone know where I can purchase organic cotton? I want to make some cloth napkins and am not that knowledgeable about fabric stores. Would places like Joann's Fabrics have organic cotton? I was hoping for somewhere near my house (Bothell) but will drive further if need be. TIA!

I got some last summer at Hancock Fabrics in West Seattle, but they didn't have much and I think they said they weren't going to be carrying it in the store anymore. I called all over Seattle, and no one else carried it in store (but many sold it on their websites.) :(

michael miller has an organic cotton line right now for kids (just plain natural cotton and a really soft and expensive cotton fleece). big fabric stores would probably have it. down here in portland fabric depot has it but i haven't been to joanns in forever so i don't know about them. you could call a few places and see.

Joanns in Lynwood (the Super Joanns) has organic cotton and also bamboo. Not a lot of selection but its very nice imo.

Thanks for the responses.

I was very pleased to find some organic cotton at the fabric/quilting shop in Country Village -- right here in Bothell! I've really been trying to "buy local" lately so this was a nice find.

Unfortunately now my washing machine broke! And it was actually when the cloth was in there (along with many other things) so I don't know when I'll be able to make my napkins. The broken washing machine is a bad, bad thing. I have to wait for over a week for the repair person to come and I am afraid it is going to be hundreds of dollars we don't have. :(
