In January of 2008, I gave birth to my third child in the comfort of my own home. It was my first homebirth and it was wholly joyous for me and my family. I was attended by two wonderful women who had a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the birth process. They helped me accomplish the birth of my choice. Those women are available to support women in many of their health choices. They nurture, educate, love, and care for a wide variety of women in times of joy and growth and even in times of stress and sorrow. They are experienced, knowledgeable, and professional. They are a part of something amazing and empowering. They are Certified Professional Midwives.

Here's a map of the location for South Church, New Britain - 90 Main Street New Britain CT:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=90+Main+street+new+britain+ct&sll=41.858029,-72.484966&sspn=0.007575,0.019312&ie=UTF8&ll=41.665971,-72.781978&spn=0.007598,0.019312&z=16
Parking is limited at the church, but there is free parking in the garage on Chestnut Street (between Main St and Elm St)
Please be sure to use the entrance for Cooper Hall - when you are facing the front of the church building, walk along the left side of the building (through the church parking lot) to the last door you come to. We'll have at least a sign there to let you know you're in the right place, or if possible, a greeter. You can also come to the Cooper Hall side entrance, which is by the courtyard on Arch St.
See you there!!

Unfortunately, I was sick and unable to go myself :( But, it seems that the turn out was good and it was a fun evening for all. My dad video-taped for me, but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. We raised about $2000, which is awesome!!! If anyone is thinking of doing a similar fund-raiser for the midwives, I'd be glad to help out or at least trouble-shoot :) Thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who contributed. It was really amazing to see how generous this community really is!:joy:
