Hi mamas! Our family has come to a crossroads where we are considering a family move. Colorado has always been our #1 choice should we move out of AZ. We need to feel connected to the Earth again, and Arizona is just not allowing us or our children that leisure. We have no change in season...there are not a lot of parents around here that believe in some of the choices we have made as a family ie. AP, Exteneded BF, Co-sleeping, Homebirth, No Vax/Delay Vax, Vegetarian-ish lifestyle...we are really natural, ok, hippies:treehugger:. We are pretty much hermits in our home 6 months out of they year due to the EXTREME heat. Seriously, we are housebound. We love the snow...I could go on, but let me get to my point, I promise I have one:joy: What can you tell me about the Fort Collins area? Some fun family stuff? How is the housing? Is anyone enrolled, or does anyone have any feedback on Riversong Waldorf School? Are there any other alternative schools in that area? I have an almost 5 year old little girl and a 2 year old little boy who LOVE the outdoors, animals, natural living.... Also, and this is a biggie...how is the Dept of Developmental Disabilities? My son has Autism, and I am terrified about losing our therapies or being put on a very lengthy wait list should we move. I realize these questions are all over the place, so thanks so much for any and all information you can provide. We are goign to try and make a trip up there by the end of the year. :cold:

I love Colorado. I think it's the greatest place on earth! I lived in Fort Collins for a while, but now we live about 15 minutes away in Loveland. Fort Collins has a nice Ap group that meets a few times a month. I don't think you would have any trouble finding like minded mamas. I can't answer your question about therapies, but hopefully someone else can.
Fort Collins, honestly, has it's flaws in my opinion. I don't like the college kids (even though I am one...:o) But when the students are gone, it's a pleasant place. If you are going to visit, I'd look at Loveland too. It's a bit smaller, but quieter and only a very short drive to Fort Collins.

Good luck!
