Today was first day back to school for DS. He turned 16 last week. I've been a Mom for 16 years!! :joy:
And I slept through him getting off to school this morning.:(
We have three littles who are homeschooled so I don't HAVE to get up. But I was going to just to see him off. I'm sure he doesn't care, as a matter of fact he was probably happy that we were all sleeping when he got ready and left this morning.:lol
I just feel bad. It's really hitting me this year how fast it's going to go by and he'll be gone.:crying

:hug I know you are disappointed that you missed that annual milestone, but you can feel like a good mom who raised a responsible teen who gets himself up and off. Think how much more eager you will be to greet him when he returns, and he may actually appreciate the reconnect more than he would have appreciated the morning send off.

He gets up on his own??? My hat's off to you mama!
And if it was my kid she'd be so relieved I was not there with the camera. :eyesroll

I thought you were going to post that you didn't get up with him and, as a result, had to drive him into school late. :lol You should be proud of raising such a responsible young man!

Thanks for the responses. :) DS got home and was happy yesterday. Didn't even mention the fact that he got off to school without a goodbye!!
There's a new pretty girl, he's in AP Eng and Bio to his great horror, and he finished his first math assignment in study hall. So, all is right in the world of the 16year old.:love

This morning was another story.
Not enough sleep + early morning for shower before school = :firedevil 16yr old

I can sympathize with your feeling bad about not getting up, but I wouldn't feel bad one more moment as 16 is not 6 and you can love on him when gets home.
