Potential Gustav Evacuees

I wanted to offer my home as a safe place to stay in case the need to evacuate arises. We are located in Shreveport (the northwestern region of Louisiana).

PLEASE feel free to PM me if you think you may need to arrange a place to stay. I heard on NPR this morning that even as far north as my area of the state, hotels and motels are booked. I cannot stomach the idea of displaced families not having shelter and other basic needs available.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Well, we're way the heck over here in WA state, but as a former (and always, in my heart) New Orleans mama, I wanted to say we're thinking good thoughts and will help in whatever way we can.:heartbeat

Thanks so much. We already had reservations for the holiday weekend in Gulf Shores, so we are just heading there. They have agreed to let us stay as long as needed. We are sharing with 2 other families so the cost is low. We are leaving tomorrow at noon.
