I'll confess to being the mama that wants to change the time! Right now Griff has been waking up from his nap between 11 and 12, so 12:30 or 1 would be great. I can do any day of the week.
Thanks for organizing this, Debi!

Gosh, I hate to say that that's my little one's naptime! I could host here at that time, I guess, if need be. I would still vote for the 11:00 time, if we can.

greetings momma's!
i would be very interested, although my impression is that these kids of the play group are all under two. my boys are going on 3 and 5.
i would love to host a group at my house for the AP toddler/pre-schoolers of the Annapolis area... anyone interested, please reply.

Well, Courtney, you're in luck! My girls are 2 1/2 and 4 1/2! Hope we get some nice new responses-- it would be great to have a regular, good-sized group! Looking forward to meeting you!

I am a mother of a 2 year old. We live in Germany but I’m moving back to Baltimore in the next few years. I am visiting family every 6 months in the Baltimore area and want to meet some parents both to hang out with and to inspire me to move back to the area! If you establish a time for a play date, could I come? I wouldn’t be able to be a regular member but I have some friends who may. I’ll be in the area from Nov 10-Dec 10 and then again in April.

I can pretty much do any mornings. Nathan will nap anywhere, but Maddie sleeps in the afternoon around 1ish. Any day is good for me, too.

Hi,
I'm new here and I'd love to join the playgroup. I live in Silver spring and I could host. I could do anytime during the day and any day after Dec 15th.

Andrea 1, just wanted to let you know we are still in the process of gathering this group together. Perhaps after the holidays, we'll see where everyone is. You can pm Lotusdebi for more info.
P.S. Welcome to Maryland!

Lotusdebi, I think a January meeting would be great. Everyone is usually too busy to gather around the holidays. Yes, it would be nice to be able to discuss this in person!
Happy Holidays!

have you guys ever been to family night at the baltimore museum of art? it is the 1st thursday of the month & very fun. (and FREE too!) there is live music, a fun craft (& crayons for those too young to do a craft), and some sort of demonstration. plus, there is the whole museum to explore too. maybe that could be a fun venue to meet up the 1st time? it starts at 5pm (though the museum is free for the whole day, so we could meet up earlier) and goes until 8pm. that way nap times wouldn't be & issue & some partners might even be able to join us....
what do you all think?

i just peeked at the bma's web site. family night is usually the 1st thurs, but that falls on th 1st - so there isn't one in jan. but- there are 2 weeks of fun-filled events to celebrate the museum's 90yr anniversary. with music & crafts. i'll have to call them next week to get details -- nothing specific on the web. i'll let you guys know what's up next week. but we can tentatively plan for one of the 1st 2 weeks in jan (though the events will happen btw 11am - 5pm, not at night like family night...)

Hey, Debi! I am up for a playgroup!
I wanted to mention a new yoga place in Crofton. I went with a friend today and we (and our kids) checked it out. Looks awesome! You can take a Baby and Me class or a Mommy and Me class (for 2 1/2- 5 y.o., which is PERFECT for us). On Thursdays, right after the Mommy and Me class is a Mom's Morning, which is basically a time to hang out in the babysitting room and play and talk. Very cool. Of course, they also have adult classes, too (I mean just for adults). So, if you're still looking, check out www.croftonyoga.com.
As far as days for a playgroup, I am up for Tuesdays and Fridays. I'd offer my home but it depends on the ages, although I could always pick up the choking hazards. It would be nice, though, as my little one goes down at around 1:00 and I know some people had mentioned meeting close to this time. If it was here, I could just put her down and continue with playgroup. Just a thought.

Hi again! I'd love to get involved - I'm lucky to already have another AP playgroup, but more the merrier. I'm all about collecting playgroups. :LOL ha ha ha! Just kidding. In all seriousness, I love the idea of getting to know even more AP moms - local and traveling.
MOrnings are definitely best for us. Or, if local to us, then mid/late afternoon. Basically, my kids nap from 1-3. :D
Thanks Lotusdebi!

Hi! I just moved to the area and am desperate for some interaction with like-minded mammas. I'm in Ellicott City and my baby is young, 3 months, so I don' t know if she's up for "playing" but I am up for socializing! Anytime works for me. Thanks! Jessica

... how about an evening or weekend excursion, so the DH's of the world can come too?
(I, for one, want to meet other more AP dads ... I'm sick of the ones who have to consult a picture to see what their kids look like, annd would stand a 1 in 10 chance of picking their children out of a lineup ... :( )

hi, the bma thing i mentioned earlier in the thread will we happening the 1st thursday in february. should we meet up there? i will definitely be there at 5pm. it's free, will have musical & dance performance, craft (which my son will unlikely be able to do since there will likely be tiny pieces but they do have crayons which he loves), plus run of the museum which is great on its own. it's from 5-8pm. the web site is www.artbma.org & just look under events & scroll down to feb where you will see first thursday...
if you are interested, we can set up a meeting place...

anyone with a baby want to get together aside from the playgroup? evenings are out for us as this is typically a very cranky time for my little one. Sophie is almost 4 months.
