Which mid-Michigan town is your favorite? Why?

Hello!

I'm moving from a town just east of East Lansing to somewhere unknown. I'm having a hard time deciding which neighborhood to buy in. For now, I think I'm staying around this area.

I have a two year old and want her to have a good home and neighborhood.

Does anyone have a favorite local town or neighborhood? If so, what about it makes it special to you?

Are you planning on staying local to Lansing? Like within an hour? Or open to somewhere totally new? What matters to you? I like Linden/Fenton. Close enough to metro-Detroit/Flint/Ann Arbor/Lansing but small town atmosphere. Linden/Argentine in particular have several crunchy stores and like-minded people. If you are just east of East Lansing you are probably near Williamston? That's long been on my short list of little towns that I like!
