My husband and I are relocating to Ohio and are looking for some advice on what are good neighborhoods. We're looking around Toledo area. I need a good neighborhood with good schools (special education a must). We don't need ritzy, but don't want ghetto either. I know absolutely nothing about Ohio or it's areas, help!

Oh, definitely go post this in the Toledo moms thread... I can tell you a little about Toledo, but there are probably some there who know more than I do. Personally, I'd look at Perrysburg first (just across the river from Toledo) and then Maumee...for suburbs. Then I'd look in the Bowsher school system if you're wanting to actually be in Toledo (Beverly Elementary is quite good...near the South end of Toledo). My dh grew up there and the neighborhood is nice and family-friendly. HTH! Really, just pop into the other thread...I know it's long, but the folks there are great and welcoming! :)

Oh, and Anthony Wayne schools are very good...so that would include Waterville and Whitehouse...a little further out of Toledo, but not too far.

It doesn't have to be in Toledo, but not too far from it. I'll definitely go post there.

We live near Bowling Green, which I think is a great town to live in...good schools, plus it's got a large university, so all the good stuff that goes along with that (theater, music, etc.). It's about a half-hour south of Toledo.

Yeah that's a bit further south than DH wanted to go but he might consider it if the area is nice.

You can come check out Temperance Michigan. We're just over the border into Michigan. Nice schools, great special education within our county (Monroe County ISD). The houses can be modest to very expensive. The town next to us is Lambertville. On up is Ida, LaSalle, and Monroe.
I hope you find a nice place to settle.

Michigan is not an option. I used to live in Michigan, Monroe to be exact and we will not go back there. Plus the Michigan economy is so bad right now that I know DH wouldn't even consider it.

We used to live in Maumee. It's really quite nice and I miss living there. I am not sure about the schools since our DD was only a baby then. Also Sylvania is really nice! Good luck with your move!
