Hello Mama's!!

I'm not yet a mama, but looking for a group of people to meet up with when I arrive in Halifax.

I'm a nanny by trade, until we have our own children (looking at TTC for 2010 :joy:). I'm a doula in training. Vegan and pretty crunchy.

I don't know what I am looking for, maybe a group already started, maybe a new group.

Any pregnant halifax mama's looking for like minded friends?
Someone to attend nurse-in's with, or protests, or something....
A knitting group, a play date group, a potluck group...?

Anyone looking for new friends from the west coast?

:D

There's a knitting thread and a playgroup thread on here already. Not posting too much on MDC these days, but both are still active.

Here's the knitting mama's thread:

And the playgroup thread:

Oh, and if you like to knit, check out KOL at http://halifaxknitters.blogspot.com/
We meet every Tuesday at the Wired Monk, downtown Halifax. Newbies always welcome. I can't guarantee total crunchiness, but there are a number of us that are rather crunchy! And then there's a Dartmouth knitters group over on Ravelry as well who meet up Thursday nights in Dartmouth. Some overlap, both lots of fun!

Thanks Alison, I've been reading your blog for sometime now :D

I knew of those two groups, I just wasn't sure about some random gal attending a play group sans children, as I am not planning on being a nanny in halifax, unless the wind has other ideas.

Anyone else looking for a friend?

Oh no, a stalker! :rotflmao You'd certainly be welcome at KOL to knit though. It's generally child free!
