Does anyone have children attending The Classical Academy in Colorado Springs? Anyone participating in the homeschool programs? If so, I'd love to hear about it!

Our children do not go there, but I've researched it extensively and have a few friends whose children attend. We currently live in Monument and were in the position to relocate last summer--we considered moving down into the district to send our kids there, but for a variety of reasons opted not to. I am strongly considering homeschooling in the future and am really drawn to their cottage/homeschool program, though, as the classical method is really appealing to me and they offer some excellent integratory programs. What kinds of things are you curious about?
I know it is an academically rigorous school, which may be a plus or minus to you. A significant proportion of the families attending the schools are of a conservative religious and political orientation.
A primary consideration for our family was not only the birthday cut-off (June 1), but also the fact that we had the option of a similar, but not quite so dogmatic, option of a charter school in Monument--Monument Academy. It was established by a former founding board member of TCA. My daughter will start kindy there next year and we'll try to make a decision after that what direction we're heading.

we enrolled in the Classical Academy Home school program about 3 yrs ago. We did not find it politically biased or homogeneous is any way..I just simply changed my mind abut being affiliated with any program. I was unexpectedly expecting at the time and driving everyone in winter several times a week up north wasn't my idea of fun.
Of the charter-home school programs I am aware of, it appears to be the best of the best, which is why we chose it. If I were homeschooling today it would be at the top of the list.
If I were you, I'd call and ask questions, visit the school and meet some of the parents and children. That, more then anything gives you the most honest feel for the program.:thumb

My three oldest attend the cottage school (4th, 3rd, 1st grades). We just moved here this summer and this is our first experience with "school". I am VERY happy with it! Any specific questions you have?
