I haven't started calling around to my list of possibilities yet, because I thought if someone on here knows someone who definitely is qualified and who will do it, then there's no need to reinvent the wheel.

Yeah, so just in case anyone else finds this thread because THEY are looking for someone... just give up now and spare yourself the frustration.

I know personally two OBs in Des Moines who are SKILLED at breech. But they won't do it. Damn them. I mean, to force someone to have a C/S, not because you don't have the skills to deliver vaginally, but because you just simply will not...I don't even have words to describe the frustration and anger.

But for the record... I haven't called every lay midwife in the state, but I've called around a bit and nobody knows anyone with enough breech experience to knowingly take one on, particularly in our climate here right now.

U of I midwifes, who have been great with our VBAC women from DSM who can't find care here, won't do breech. Their supporting OBs won't either.

There's a chance Dr Mintzer here in DM will take me, I'm waiting to hear back from him, but the first time we spoke about it, he said he would not do a planned breech vaginally.

There WAS an OB in Knoxville who had breech experience and was at least open to vaginal breech, but he retired.

You may have already exhausted all these options but incase you havent I will mention what I used.

My ds flipped breech about 2 weeks before his due date.

I used the homeopathic medicine Pulsatilla. I used the 30C since that is all I could get my hands on at the time. I took about 4 doses.
We also had a whirlpool tub that I could stretch out in and float underneath the water. I had read that this can help get the baby to move. So I thought what the heck give it a try.

Cant really be for sure if this is what caused him to reposition but when I went back in for the follow up ultrasound he had moved and was far enough down they felt he would not be changing again.

My 5th was breech until the very end. We did the inversion but she turned back. I did the techniques on spinning babies web site. She finally turned the he night before my induction. We chose to induse that day anyway for fear she wold turn again.
However the reason I am replying to you is the only Dr I found to attempt a breech baby was Dr. Getta in CR. I don't know if he will do this for everyone because this was #5 for me and I labor easily and quick. It was also 4 yrs ago. But you could try him and see. Hope all goes well for you.

Have you tried to have the baby turned? Acupuncture, etc?
