Breech delivery in Omaha?

I'm actually from Iowa, but could travel to Omaha for care if needed. I'm hoping someone knows of a care provider in Omaha (or the immediate area) who would attend a breech vaginal birth. Thanks.

You can try Dr. Sean McFadden or his wife and fellow Ob/Gyn Kay Thatcher. They own Sarpy County Ob/Gyn. Two very experienced docs. They did both my deliveries, my first was really rough, shoulder dystocia and the baby was large (9lbs2oz) but he was very confident he could do a vaginal delivery, and he did! He and his wife are very pro vaginal deliveries, no formula handouts, VERY pro breast feeding and they deliver at Bergan, Methodist and UNMC. He or she might take your case. Both docs are great, I personally see McFadden more, but Thatcher is just as good, very kind and caring people. Their number is 898 -8500.

Shoot, the guy at UNMC will do them assuming it's frank breech I think and you don't need any pitocin etc. I'm so mad for forgetting his name right now! He works pretty closely w/ Monty Matthews there, he might do them as well. They are backups for a lot of hb deliveries.

McFadden might, but i know that his wife won't.. my friend had her, and well,,, Sean seemed more laid back than her.

Have you tried the UNMC midwives???

Finley doesn't seem to have a phone number? I found two different numbers, one rang and rang and rang. The other was the fast busy signal.

You should be able to reach Dr. Finley through the regular UNMC Family Physicians number - you can just ask to be put through to his nurse - probably Carmel, who is wonderful. (402) 559-7200 Its a busy clinic so sometimes there's a busy signal but try it again later...

I heard there was someone at Methodist who would do breech - I'll try to find out...

Also try calling or emailing Nicole Josselyn, CNM, in Council Bluffs - she does home births but she probably knows who in the area will do it. 712-256-9989 nicole@exodushomebirth.com She is not taking clients right now, but I am sure she would answer your question!!!

McFadden has surgery on certain days is in clinic I know that for a fact. If you don't get a reply call the main office again. I am 99.9 percent sure he will do it. I know this guy very well and I am confident he would do it. Keep us posted.

I know that Dr. Andrew Robertson who practices through Methodist has delivered a breech baby or two :wink
