View Full Version : Symptoms are weird- and probably TMI
musiclady 09-29-2008, 08:09 PM I'm not pukey. I'm gassy. And get hit with diarrhea (which is a really weird word to spell) about once a day. I'm tired, but then sometimes I get bursts of energy. I'm a little emotional, but more like I feel a little less willing to take crap- not boo-hoo cry.
I also am starting to get really sore boobs- on the sides. Blech.
I can out-burp my husband, and today, I woudl have run him out of the bathroom. I guess I'd rather that end than puke?
My friend had very good advice- she said that you can either graze throughout the day and keep food in you or you can get nausea and puke. So, I'm opting for food. But man- can you take gas-x????? :lol
HA!
heatherh 09-29-2008, 10:25 PM Ooooohhhh I had the gas last time. I'd be tempted to find out if gripe water (http://www.vitacost.com/Babys-Bliss-Gripe-Water) is OK to try - I bet it is. If I get gas like that again, I'll be trying it! Uggggg the tummy pain.
BlissfullyLoving 09-30-2008, 04:45 AM My sister in law had lots of gas and diarhea in her two pregnancies (as her main symptom). Are you eating anything that might be making the gas worse (brocolli, garlic, etc)? I doubt it will go away completely, but a blander diet might give you some relief.
groovynaturemama 09-30-2008, 10:25 PM i am soooooo gassy too. i am farting constantly, and it's still funny every time (i have an affinity for potty humor i guess, or i just watched too many south park episodes that featured the terrance and phillip show) dh is having sympathy gas (he ALWAYS has "sympathy" gas :lol) for me i think. i am also getting the morning/all day nausea, but i try to keep it at bay by eating a lot throughout the day, and making sure that i'm eating things full of protein (helps sustain a person longer). that seems to help. it will last about 2-3 hours each time i eat, then i get pukey again.
as far as my boobs; just my nipples mostly (i'm still nursing), but i do notice some tenderness elsewhere, like when dd uses them to brace herself as she stands or stunt nurses.

I'm having some tenderness during my 2 year old's acrobatic nursing too. And I think some supply issues, although these were starting before the pregnancy. She nursed for 45 minutes tonight, then cried herself to sleep saying, "Amy want to have Mommy's milkie, huh!" It was so sad! My husband and I kept explaining that Mommy's milkie needs to fill up again, but she was really angry. After a long nursing session she still sometimes wants more, but sometimes I just can't bring myself to let her when she's just finished. It just doesn't feel nice to have her nursing on empty boobs. Has anyone else nursed during pregnancy before? Any wisdom?
WeasleyMum 10-01-2008, 08:51 AM Ah, the elephant gas... yep, I've got that too. It's not weird.
heatherh 10-01-2008, 10:38 AM Umm, yeah, I ordered some gripe water yesterday with my vitamins.
blissful_maia 10-02-2008, 02:18 PM Gas is actually my main pregnancy symptom right now! I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one... :shy I do get little waves of nausea here and there when I haven't eaten in a while, but THE GAS. It's unbelievable really. :lol

I know, right? I try to be polite (you know, sneak into a hallway, go to the restroom), but I know I'm being a bad coworker sometimes.

It might not be weird, but it sure is GROSS. I feel so bad for DH... I keep apologizing for stinking up the bed. As the wave of stench washes over his head. :lol

beachcomber 10-03-2008, 03:06 PM Yup. I'm gassy, farty, burpy and have the trots so far this time around. And sore boobs on the sides. Nice to know I'm not alone in this. But honestly ladies, it's a good thing we're not all in the same room, isn't it? :rotflmao
maisiedotes 10-03-2008, 04:04 PM Yes, I have some VILE gas. I can't stand myself.

Hmm, I don't believe I've had the privledge (?) of smelling a dead elephant... I was personally refering to the sheer VOLUME of gas, which to me seems roughly equivelent to what an elephant could pass! :D
evanleighorion 10-05-2008, 01:02 PM So glad to know I'm not the only one with the crazy gas!
