Anyone have any experience with GBS? This is not pregnancy after loss of life, so I pray I'm not being disrespectful entering this forum, but my babies each frighteningly crashed shortly after very beautiful births and were then revived and shipped off to an NICU. It is believed the complications were from Group B Strep sepsis. The 2 were birthed in hospitals (no drugs) while I received IV antibiotic treatments for GBS which obviously did not prevent the babies from being affected. I'm now entering the 3rd trimester of our 3rd baby and facing some tough decisions. I was recently cultured and found to have GBS. The strain was speciated and found sensitive to everything, so it's not antibiotic resistant. I've been offered a c-section birth. The only other offer is to check into the hospital and receive IV antibiotics (oral are supposed to be too weak) before giving birth, then try natural induction immediately. With the past pregnancies, I did not utilize any herbs or natural remedies, which I am currently trying. This is poor information, but I am looking for anyone with experience or special insight into these issues. I would be grateful!

I was group B strep positive during my oldest DD's labor. But she suffered no complications. I went on to birth two more children, GBS status unknown, with no problems. But I also was also using alternative medicine.

Good luck.
