I'm not part of this tribe but I'm posting for my sister who lives in Tucson. She has chosen not to vax and is having a terrible time finding a pediatrician who doesn't fight her about it. Also, her baby is very petite so the peds she has seen are trying to make her give the baby formula! If anyone knows a decent pediatrician, please let me know. Thanks.

This is a list I compile on an ongoing basis, largely comprised of cp's I have personal experience with, or whom I have heard about directly from other families. The general qualification is that they support, or at least don't question, "unconventional" approaches to vacs, really understand bf, etc. If anybody has feedback about those on the list, or knows of other cp's please feel free to say so...

Thanks for that great list, Sarah!

I am in an attachment parenting meetup group and these docs were recommended by them:

Eve Shapiro, Orange Grove Pediatrics (pediatrician)
Dr. Foster, Catalina Pediatrics
Dr. Stark, Blue Oak Clinic (naturopathic dr.)

We use Beth Sachrison at Orange Grove Peds.

My husband, parents and I all use Marty Giles. I :joy: about him for years, however he recently called the acupuncturist/Chinese med practitioner I see for Candida issues 'your friend.' Blech. However, I'll still use him as the entry into the 'system' so to say. (And I must add that when I was pregnant with a sinus infection, his NP (who has since left) and Dr. Giles got me healthy without drugs.)

Any peds south of Tucson? We are moving to Civano and it looks like a hike to most of the Drs listed above. I don't need something around the corner, but I don't want to drive an hour with a sick toddler either.

Thanks!

Erin

we go to Dr. James McFarren 721-5350
he's on Pima in between craycroft and wilmont
i was recommened by another non-vax mama
when i told them we aren't doing any vax's he just said ok...his nurse too.
at another appt he mentioned the new gardisil vax for my teen DD, and i said (again) we're not vaxing he said, "oh ya...we scared you away from all of them have we!?"
i said "yep!" and that was the end of the conversation!
i'm really happy with him all around.
i have a toddler, a 10yo DS w/ special needs, and a teenDD he's great with them all.

HTH!
