Anyone with little ones in the area? We moved fairly recently from Alaska and I have yet to meet other moms!

My kiddos are a bit older than yours (3.5 and 2) but we live close to Stowe and are always up for new friends :)

Awesome!! I have moved around a lot, but now that I have the baby I feel like it is really hard to meet people in a new place. I love being a sahm mom, but it has definitely been an adjustment! Where do you live?

In a way, having a baby can be a window into meeting new people you might not have otherwise :love

Do you ever go up to Morrisville?
The Bees Knees seems like it would be a great place to hang out and meet moms with little ones. My lovely friend Jess recently moved up there, and hangs out there and at the playground farther up the street downtown. She has a 3yo and a 9 month old.

Hi momma!
I am in Barre, for now at least. I think we're 20 minutes away from you. I have a couple of K9s ad a DS too....We're trying to start up a folk music/playgroup here this winter....I'll keep it posted here.

If you'd like to meet up to hike and let the pups be wild some weekday...let me know!

There's lots of momma events in Burlington - if you pick up a 7days they list things in there.

Enjoy!:joy:

Hi,

We moved to Stowe about 8 months ago. I agree, it is a big adjustment becoming a sahm and moving to a new area. Let's get together, I'm always looking for new mommy friends.

The Bees Knees is a yummy place to eat and hang out! :eat:

Welcome to Vermont! We also moved here from Alaska 9 months ago. We were in Fairbanks, where were you?

We are currently in Wilder, about an hour south of you...but we are planning to buy land in the Thetford/Strafford area in the spring and build our home there. I have 2 children ages 2 and 4.

Our experience here in Vermont has been wonderful; kind, welcoming people, beautiful country, farms, great food, access to culture, and, for us, nearer to our family.

That said, it has not been an easy adjustment. I found Alaska to be a very hard place to leave; even though I was ready and love it here.

Best of luck to you!

Kindly,

Molly

Here is another Alaskan Girl in vermont! We are over in wheelock about an hour from Stowe. I find it takes a bit longer to make connections here than in AK but there are lots of cool moms once you find them.

I lived all over AK b/c I moved seasonally to run dogs through the year. I winter in Willow or Eagle and spent summers on the Juneau Icefield until I got out of dog sledding altogether and moved to Juneau permanently. We miss it so much...it has been an incredible change in lifestyle. But the tradeoff is my family is close and that is what is important for now. Vermont has been wonderful to us, and if I can't be in AK, then I am so happy to be here!:)

Check out the Children's Room in Waterbury to connect with other moms of babies and preschoolers. It's not easy to make friends in these parts, but if you put a little effort out you can find some really lovely people.
