I have had some great suggestions about books, but I just don't have a lot of time to read and I need help NOW before it gets worse and I damage my poor kid for life. That and since DH and I disagree on discipline, I need to find something that works SOON or DH will keep punishing DS and I'm afraid that will also go awry. Last week he bragged arrogantly about sending DS to bed 3 times in less than 2 hours, and I heard him threaten it again last night. Using bed for a punishment is ridiculous and potentially harmful, and he is going to continue to do it because he doesn't care what I think.
Right now I have checked out "your two year old" and "playful parenting".
Are there ANY local support groups for dealing with typical toddler behavior or professionals that help with this sort of stuff? I know there is a local API group but it would be hard for me to get to the meetings. Anyone know of local child psychologists that specialize in GD? I live in the Lakeville/Apple Valley/Burnsville area. Thanks!
