I remember years ago watching a Vietnam movie about a soldier who sneaks his girlfriend into the jungle with him. I think the girlfriend ends up going on missions with some of the soldiers???? I cant remeber the name of the movie for the life of me.

There is a story in "The Things they Carried" by Tim O'Brian where this happens. The guy gets his girlfriend to come and she shows up in pink culottes (at least this is what I remember) but ends up going off with the green berets on secret missions. I've never heard that this is a movie though so it must be something different. Good book though!

Oh thank you! A little google and I found it. The movie is based on that part of the book and it is called "A Soldiers Sweetheart". I did not realize it was based on a book and the book sounds excellent.
