I am due for a gyn visit and I am hoping to go to someone who is also an OB as we will be ttc early next year. The OB who delivered dd came highly recommended but was not a good fit for me. He was more of an authoritarian type, and this time I am looking for someone who will allow me to have more input into the birthing process. If anyone has a recommendation I would certainly appreciate it! TIA

I recommend the midwives I went to at the Womens Holistic Health Center/The Birth Center of Delaware. Check them out at

I second that recommendation--strongly. I live in DE, also, and used the midwives for both my children's births (the 1st was born at St. Francis, the 2nd was born at the Birth Center---wonderful!!!!).
I used the midwives before I was even married or thinking about kids. It is such a great atmosphere and they really care about giving you the experience that you want. They spend tons of time with you & make you feel very comfortable. When I compare my experience with my friends who see more traditional OB/GYNs, I am so happy I chose them!
That said, if you are not comfortable with the idea of a MW, maybe they could at least recommend an OB who is a better match than your previous one?
Good luck!
