I want to make my own cloth diaper and pretty new to it. I was just wondering if anyone else made their own and what material do you find works best for you? I bought a pattern to make one, now I'm not sure what fabric to use with it? TIA

I have the Honeyboy AIO patern. I just go to Joanns and use Arctic fleece for the outer and flannel for the inner soaker and doublers. But there can be so much more to it and there are TONS of options. Go to www.diapershop.com
That site has so much info on sewing diapers, it is the best resource in my opinion!:)

to the sewing and crafts section but I like organics cotton fleece or sherpa or burley and also hemp for diapers. The CB patterns I liked..

There are soooo many options :LOL I like hemp terry for the soaker portion, and am starting to lean towards Winpro Fleece for the outer again after having elastic issues with PUL :LOL :LOL

If this is your first time and you are like me and hate 'wasting' good material while you are learning - I use $1/yard flannel from walmart and old towels. I don't know what pattern you have but you might be able to start there. Even if you find that you don't love the material at least the dipes will still be usable and you won't waste the expensive stuff. I've learned this one the hard way. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips. I got the cuddlebuns pattern. Thanks for the suggestion Kerrie, i know i'll mess up my first few, so cheaper the material the better. Then I guess i can move up after i get it down pat.
