was it something I ate?

Ok, I know, I'm blessed with a baby that never spits up. Well for three days now he's been eating only small amounts- four minute feeds and he's been spitting up tiny amounts. Both things are weird to me, that he's eating so little and spitting up. But today I got covered in spit up. He ate a decent about- 13 minutes and and 1.5 hrs later he spit up on me and it just kept coming. He spit up four times and all of them pretty big. It just looked like milk and was not forceful.

He never spits up and he does not eat this little? Did I eat something to upset him? He's still smiley, but a bit less happy these past three days. I'm not sure what's going on.

Oh, and he arches away and cries often now when I try to feed him. He's 4 months. It's now 2pm. He spit up at 11am, and hasn't ate since 8am. Six hours is long for us and he's totally content not eating.

I'm posting this in lwab too because I'm not sure where it should go, if it's my milk upsetting him or something else. Help

It could be something you ate, have you eaten anything new in the past few days, or in greater quantities than normal (like 3 glasses of milk as opposed to your normal 1)?

Or, it could be a stomache virus. That's what is sounds like bc you said he is kind of cranky and eating less. Both are signs he's not feeling well. My babies have gotten a stomache bug and had the exact same symptoms you are describing. No fever or any other symptoms. If he is sick just keep nursing even if he spits up or vomits the milk. As long as he is nursing regularly he will avoid dehydration which is the danger when kids get sick.

If it doesn't stop in a couple more days you might want to investigate something in your diet.

I am sure more MDC mamas will be along to chime in w/some good ideas or thinkg I haven't thought of.

Hope he feels better soon!
