Vitamin D Drops
Is there any reason why I can't or shouldn't put the vitamin d drops on my kids' fingers and then have them put their fingers in their mouths? I hesitate to mix it in food or drink, because what if they don't finish it?

You could but, what if they drop off, wipe their faces or shirts etc...?
Why not just put the drops in a small amount of juice or yogurt or something?
For yogurt, I get a spoonful ready, put the drops on it and feed it to them that way it's not mixed into the whole yogurt which they may not finish.
Same with juice, I don't add it to a full cup, I put a tablespoon of juice in a cup, add the Vit D and have them drink it and then when they're done, they can have their regular amount.

I pop them right in the kids mouth. They say it doesn't taste like anything.
I try to discourage fingers in the mouth, so that would really ick me out, putting drops on their fingers.

WEll, my 2 year old, I can't even count on her to put even a a spoonful of something in her mouth. This morning, I put it on their finger and had them quickly put it in their mouths.

The bottle didn't come with a dropper but a lid that releases the drop once it touches something.I don't hink I want the bottle to touch their mouths, rather a clean finger. I wish there was a a dissolvable tablet I could put in their mouths or something.

What brand did you buy? We use Carlson Ddrops, and it takes a while, but the drops do fall off the dropper/dispenser thing, and if the kids tip their heads back enough, I can just let them fall into their mouths. That said--when some has spilled on my fingers, I lick it off, so I don't see a reason beyond not wanting fingers in the mouth to turn into a habit.

DS (2.5) feeds himself but for the drops, we drop it onto a spoon and feed him that particular bite - usually on something yummy that he likes like a piece of a muffin or sunbutter.
