Anyone felt movement at 7-8 weeks?
Little info. This is my 4th pregnancy. I have measured pretty much right on with the others. I am 7w6d today. Measuring 15 weeks. I was charting when I got pregnant so I am sure of my dates. I could be off by one day, but not by 3 weeks! I am sure of that. I haven't been able to button or zip my jeans in about 3 weeks. I have had a hard time finding the top of my uterus this time and now I know why. I was looking for it too low! I felt a little cramp the other night laying in bed and when I massaged it it kicked me!! I was shocked!! I did it again and it kicked me again. It actually kicked so hard yesterday you could clearly see it. It is right to the left and about one horizontal finger below my belly button. I went to see my midwife yesterday and she confirmed I was right. We can't hear a heartbeat with a doppler (I have one and we tried her's too) which would be consistent with being 7-8 weeks. You can hear it moving with it though. It was very clear kicks several times. I am going to wait to see what the next few weeks brings. If by 12 weeks I am still way ahead I will probably do an u/s although I don't like doing them. So has anyone measured this big and felt baby this early? I am not feeling twins and we don't have any in the family. Not that it mean it couldn't happen but I doubt it. I'm just wondering if I'm having a baby or an elephant!

At 8 weeks pregnant, the baby is about 1/2 in ch long, and only has little buds with webbed hands/feet. Not actual legs that could kick.
I definitely felt my first movements at 8/9 weeks with my first pregnancy, but ti felt like a fishy swimming around in there and tickling me.
I don't know.... i mean... it sounds like you are a month further along than you are! Are you planning to get an ultrasound?

I was measuring about that large at that gestational period with my triplets. However, no movement then, they were just too small.
At this stage the baby is only about the size of a grain of rice (7 weeks) or close to a raspberry size (8 weeks). There's really no way you could be seeing anything, unless you're much further along than you believe you are. It's just not possible to see movement at 8 weeks.

This is the size and shape of an embryo roughly the same age as yours:
http://www.ehd.org/prenatal-images.php?thum_id=105
(age of embryo measured by fertilization rather than LMP - so your embryo is at the lower end of that).
I'd agree with the others - I think it's more likely the dates are off, or you're getting muscle twitches

Well I am 5'5" 99lbs pre preg so maybe that helps. And I know I am not a month farther along. My temps were very low 96.4ish before I o'd. And I always jump up in the 98's when preg. Which I did about a week after oing like my last preg. So I'm very sure of that. I felt my last baby around 10-11 weeks. I really don't want to do an u/s but now I am wondering whats going on so I might have to just for piece of mind.

I agree that it is physically impossible to see a baby kicking at that gestational age ~ sounds like your weeks are off?
This is my third pregnancy/child in 3 years (my DS is 2.5 and DD 1.5) and I can tell you that my uterus is measuring really far ahead, though I was pretty sure of dates and did have an early ultrasound (7w3d) to confirm. I was showing very early. At 7w3d my baby had a strong heartbeat, but did not even look like a baby yet, let alone have arms or legs capable of producing a kick visible externally. Between gas, muscle twitches etc there is a lot going on in that region early in pregnancy, I'm guessing that either that is what you are feeling or your dates are off.

Yeah, I agree with pp's. It's during the 9th week that babe is just beginning to burst to life anyway with movements. And mostly they're involuntary twitches due to nerves being stimulated randomly as the nervous system boots up.

I was 5'4" and only 105ish lbs, so being super thin wouldn't make a difference. If you know for sure you're not further ahead, then I would think it was a cluster of intestinal twitches, as you can see those and they do feel like baby kicks.

I felt something like kicks during my last pregnancy around 6-7 weeks. I knew it couldn't be, so I thought it might be gas or something. I actually saw movement on my left side at seven weeks, it was vibrating. I thought it was my muscles (as I was also having severe back pain as well). It turned out that I had an ectopic pregnancy and the "kicking" I felt was my tube starting to split with the growing placenta. The movement I saw on the outside was when my tube actually ruptured. There was swelling involved as well, from all the blood pooling in my abdomen. If you have any other symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy (brown spotting, back pain, shoulder pain, etc.) please get it checked out.

I was wondering about that. Thats why I went to see my MW yesterday. I have had no spotting at all. I did have some back pain the other day but it didn't last long and was just a dull ache. Isn't there a lot of pain with an ectopic? That was my first freak thought but since I haven't been in pain I figured it wasn't it.
