My mw (cnm) said to use EmergenC as needed, but not on a regular basis (ie not preventatively). Since we have a preschooler I often have 1 a day, and 2 when we're all especially germy. I share them with my dd, who is 3.5 years old.

I was preggo with dd during the same time of year 4 years ago. My mw then was all about lots of vit C to ward off all the germies, and that was before swine flu!

So...to me 4 a day seems like a lot. I take up to 2 a day, and don't take it if I'm feeling fine.

Best wishes mama. Hope you feel better soon! Take some elderberry syrup and drink elderberry tea and get lots of sleep.

So I called the CNMs and asked specifically about how much Vit. C I could take.... and they said don't go over 2,000 mg a day, even if you're sick. I'll keep going with the 2 packets a day for now

This is great to read--I had been wondering.

I'll have to ask my MW at our next appointment, too.
